Neverwas
Neverwas - Kelly Moore,Tucker Reed,Larkin Reed

Neverwas is the second book by authors Kelly Moore and Tucker and Larken Reed, following Amber House.  It starts in a similar way as Amber House, but almost as if in an alternate universe.  The past is changed as the first book ends, and the second book is as if the changed pasted had continued without the story of the first book, however the main character, Sarah, slowly begins to remember this other "past."  Her aunt Maggie and her brother Sammy, remember the ending of the previous book as well as other echos, however Sarah, the main character, is remember more and more.  The setting is very confusing in the second book.   I originally though the first book took place in the South, approximately modern day, however in the second it has little in common with the original setting.  Instead Nazis are still a very real threat, discrimination is hugely common, and although Sarah is disgusted it seems quite normal to everyone else.  Jackson, another vital character, is dramatically different from the first book, he seems very unhappy, although I understand it would be unreasonable if he wasn't, after all he is not white.  I so far enjoy this book very much and I am excited to keep reading.

Hello all, and Happy New Year!

It is again a new year, and I can tell you all, it will be filled with books. I will however try and take it easier this year. 700+ books is fun, but also a bit stressful at times.

Now for January, a bit busy in regards with books.

First of all, my pre-orders (I got quite a few and I will only list those I haven't read yet, some pre-orders are books I already read, but I was waiting for to come out in paperback):

1. The Vanishing Game by Kate Kae Myers

2. Book Girl and the Scribe Who Faced God, Part 2

3. Hollow City by Ransom Riggs (New photographs, and the story continues)

4. Her Dark Curiosity by Megan Shepherd (So excited about this book)

5. The Sinister Sweetness of Splendid Academy by Nikki Loftkin

6. Zom-b Gladiator by Darren Shan (Let's hope this one will be better than the previous one)

Now other books I would love to read in January:

1. Phoenix Island by John Dixon.

2. A Breath of Frost by Alyxandra Harvey

3. No Place by Todd Strasser

4. The Son: A Divergent Story by Veronica Roth

5. Neverwas by Kelly Moore

6. And We Stay by Jenny Hubbard

7. See Jane Run by Hannah Jayne

8. A Mad, Wicked Folly

So, I got a lot that I hope I can read. :) Really excited, it is really a good start for a wonderful new year.

It's true, the authors will flag your review and GR will delete it if you mention the authors at all. Well, here we are, the authors are dicks. They get into flamewars with reviewers and rally their (sockpuppet) army to harass them as well. Dicks dicks dick. 1/2 star for you.

Danger, Will Robinson, Danger! (Do Not Want!)
Amber House - Kelly Moore
Neverwas - Kelly Moore,Tucker Reed,Larkin Reed

Reblogged via Shelby

I don't think there's anything on the checklist of what not to do as an author that these ladies skipped.  Well... presumably they've had their books edited, as they've been picked up by one of the big six.  But other than that, they've done it all.

Corrected and argued with readers.

Blogged about readers (misrepresenting the situation while they were at it).

Harassed readers.

Reported readers and flagged their reviews.

Lied.

Used past trauma to excuse current behavior.

Complained about how the kerfuffle is damaging their career.

Tried to convince readers to change their ratings.

Of course, they haven't done anything which might actually do some damage control.  Such as simply shutting up about the whole thing.  Or telling the truth.  Or admitting they should never have started this.  Instead, I guess they think it's more productive to hound readers about how unfair it is to one-star their books.  Everyone knows that always works!

Honestly, I haven't seen anyone so intent on ruining their own careers since Lauren Pippa imagined that shelf names were attacking her.
