Audiobook Review: Order (Billionaires in Disguise: Maxence #2) by: Blair Babylon, Narrated by Lucy Rivers & Shane East

Action. Adventure. Heartbreak. Intrigue. Prepare to go on the run with another unpredictable romance. Order is an edge of the seat kind of ride. It's hard to catch your breath when danger steals it at ever turn.

Mitch is chasing nuclear bombs
Order to Kill: A Novel (A Mitch Rapp Novel Book 13) - Vince Flynn,Kyle Mills

Mitch is being distracted by the widow of the killer who killed his late wife. Weird.

Claudia is the late wife and Ann is the daughter. They were being hidden in South Africa when words got out that they were being targeted for kidnapping and probably killed. A new player is in town and he is just as good as Mitch. Rare but possible.

Then there is a lot of trap and twists and a bit too risky even for someone as skill as Mitch Rapp. Then it would be just plot device to add lot of tension and action into the story.

The more interesting plot is while the world leaders are acting more like sciopaths, the assassins themselves are more human than those politicians. In a way, it is strange.

There is also humor and some laugh out loud moments. Coleman was hurt in this one and it got a bit emotional.

Going to read the next one and see what happened next.

PLOT:

The game starts off 5 years after Order 66. You play as Cal Krestis, A padawan who survived order 66 and is in hiding. He's a scrapper working with Prauf. Until they get into trouble and Cal has to use the force to save his friend. The Empire found out that Cal is a Jedi. Cal eventually escaped with help of two people Cere Junda and Greez Dritus. Cere tells Cal that he has to access an ancient vault that was built by the Zeffo. While Cal goes to The Ancient Vault, He is accompanied by a droid named BD-1. The Ancient Vault has a Jedi Holocron that has every youngling that has the force. They want to use it so they can rebuild The Jedi Order. So Cal has to go to planet to planet to unlock The Ancient Vault.

GAMEPLAY:

The game is a third person, Hack 'n" Slash type game. Cal has a lot of moves at his disposal. Though they have to be unlocked by either playing through the story, or unlocking skills. His Skills are limited but open at the same time. He has a skill tree with three ways he can put skillpoints into: Force, LightSaber, & Survival. Cal can unlock skillpoints by killing enemies or inspecting something BD-1 can find. BD-1 also gets upgrades that can help you along the journey.

PRESENTATION:

The game looks and sounds beautiful, but with some problems. There is frame drops and pop-ins. Though its only on the console version. Other than that I love all the planets, & the deep lore with each planet makes this experiance a pleasent one.

If you are a Star Wars geek or someone who wants to play a good hack 'n' slash game, then this game is for you.

Rating: 8/10

HP & The Order of the Phoenix - audiobook
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Book 5 - J.K. Rowling,Jim Dale

Loving my re-read (listening) to the entire Harry Potter series. I guess I've seen the movies more recently so I've forgotten some details of the books. I love rediscovering things as I read. I'll be moving on to book 6 after a bit of a break. :)

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Harry Potter #5) - J.K. Rowling
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - J.K. Rowling

This has always been my least favorite Harry Potter novel. There are several examples of bad decisions made throughout the series but the bulk of those bad decisions come in this book. Bad decisions were made by everyone but none more than Dumbledore. We don't see much of him in this novel but the bit we do see isn't great (imo).

Don't get me wrong. I still love this book. I still love this series. Maybe my overly negative view has more to do with the world we are living in right now than anything else. I mean Cornelius Fudge and Dolores Umbridge are refusing to see what's right in front of them because it doesn't fit their own personal agendas. Dealing with the truth is too scary for them. It sounds strangely familiar. Umbridge alone. Ugh. If you have read all of these novels and if by the end of them, you don't hate Umbridge more than Voldemort, you read them wrong. Go back and try again.

And Harry? He is unbearably arrogant and foolish in this book. About the only action of his I agree with is at the beginning when he snaps at Ron and Hermione because they are always bickering with each other. They are. They deserved to be snapped at. After that it's all down hill. Bad decision after bad decision. If we're being honest with ourselves, Umbridge is really the only person who actually hold Harry accountable for his actions. I don't agree with her methods but she's not really wrong. Yelling at teachers? Not following directions? Those are things you aren't suppose to do when you are the student. When other adults (McGonagall, Lupin, the Weasley's, etc.) all tell you to put your head down and just do what you're told, maybe you should listen to them. But no. Harry just barrels on and does whatever he wants. Maybe just do what you're told and let the truth come out on its own. That's kind of how I'm currently feeling about that stupid "PLANdemic" movie that people keep posting all over Facebook (Seriously, my friend list has been cut in half in two days). Eventually people will realize how stupid they look. And if not? Well, sometimes you can't fix stupid.

If I'm going to come to an overall conclusion about TOOTP, it's that maybe I'm the problem. It's entirely possible, I'm just reading this book at a bad time. This is the first time this series has failed me. I always read it when things get a little out of hand. I like the predictability. I like the characters. It feels normal to me. Maybe the bigger problem here is that normal is changing. Maybe the problem is I'm not willing to accept the change so I'm irrationally lashing out at a book. This is some pretty deep thinking for someone who is only through one cup of coffee this morning.
