Will I continue this series?  I think it's done now…It turns out it's not done, so yeah, probably.

4.3/5 STARS

My Thoughts

Straight off I need to say this series is a favorite of mine.  While I've relished Cash and Cat's story, adding this second book just seems like she's dragging out their story.  Just let them get together already.  One book would have been sufficient.  So I implore you Paige Weaver please don't drag Keely and Gavin's story out for two books…ok?  Oh yeah, and what's with that cover, that is not Cash, hello, he's a cowboy.  That looks like a guy taking a stroll on a pier in Maine, which is nowhere near Texas.

If you like an end of the world/apocalyptic story mixed with an angsty new adult love story, then you should give this series a go.  The first book is Promise Me Darkness in the Promise Me Series and that link will take you to its goodreads page.  I should warn you though, it might make you stockpile canned goods and may make you want to learn how to turn fresh meat into jerky.

Sex Factor:  Awesomely done as always…oh yeah, it's also rather explicit.

✧✧✧✧✧✧Why I picked that quote✧✧✧✧✧✧

I think every woman just wants a guy who makes her name sound like he was tasting it on his tongue.

Overall Rating: 4.5/5 Stars

Breakdown of Rating

Plot: 4.7/5 I wanted something more...just a little.
Character: 5/5 Love, love, love Cash, and Cat is feisty and angsty and sequentially in need of some serious love.
Theme: 5/5
Flow: 5/5
Originality: 5/5 For the Promise Series as a whole.
Book Cover: 5/5
The Feels: 5/5 Oh yeah, all the feels...
Sex Factor: Yes, but her sex scenes are just so SEXY.
Ending: 4/5 The last 20% of this book goes to someplace really peculiar, and I'm reluctant but ultimately anxious to see where the story is going.   Cliffhanger: Yes!!!  Seriously, you did it again. I'm not sure that I like that

Will I continue the series: Yes, I have too…would love a date as to when Promise Me Forever is coming out.

Synopsis:

A race for survival and love.

Once with him was never enough.

I am the girl you dislike. The girl you snub at parties. I am the one who flirts with men and knows no boundaries. I am the one you whisper about. The one who has no rules. I am the one who takes and uses without any regret or excuses.

On the outside I am perfect. I have money, looks, and a personality that makes people stand up and take notice, but on the inside I am broken and hurting.

Then I met Cash Marshall.

He wasn’t what I needed, but I wanted him anyway. It was Cash’s carved, muscular body I thought about. It was his cool, confident touch I craved. I swore he would only be a one-night stand, another distraction to take away the pain.

But then our world changed.

Our story is not about love. Love is pretty and sweet and full of niceties. Those no longer exist. Our story is about finding each other again in a world gone crazy. It’s about surviving the impossible when war ravaged our land. It’s about saving each other from the darkness and finding out just how strong we could be.

And maybe, just maybe, along the way, we’ll find love…

Once and for all.

My Thoughts:

They bill this book as a stand-alone, but in my opinion, you won't get the full effect of this story unless you have read the first two books in the series.  You won't get to know the Cash from Maddie and Ryder's story, and you would be missing out.

I've read quite a few apocalyptic books, and a part of me has freaked the fuck out at the thought of an EMP going off.  I can't seem to help reading them, though.  I'm just sucked in by them.  This series is different.  That's because they have a strong romance element to them.  I really like that part of this series, it softens the blow, so to speak of the harshness of "the end of the world as we know it" aspect to these stories.

"You touch her and you won't be able to drink enough alcohol to take away the pain I'll cause you"
Sweet Destruction - Paige Weaver

--Paige Weaver, Sweet Destruction.

Synopsis:

There’s a fine line between love and hate and they were about to cross it.

My name is Samantha Ross and this is my life.

I existed in a world that few know. Rundown trailers and crime-ridden streets were my home. Drugs and alcohol were the norm and happiness was the exception. I lived from day to day never knowing if I would have a roof over my head or food in my stomach. My life sucked. It took from me and gave nothing back.

But there was one certainty in my life. A black smudge on my window of hell.

Cole Walker.

He was a criminal. A thief. He brought hell and damnation with him wherever he went. He hurt and destroyed. He took and gave nothing in return. He was heartache and despair wrapped up in a perfect gorgeous package. Fast cars and fast women were his hobbies. His vices. But he had many.

I was one of them.

I was his addiction and his craving. His enemy on this earth. I feared him. I hated him. I loved him even more.

First, I want to say; I love the cover.

Second, I want to say; I love Paige Weaver.

I really liked this story, Paige has a way of writing that just flows so smoothly for me.   The sex scenes are hot and just right, not too erotic, and not too PG.  The tension leading up to the actual sex is taut.  I loved the "Promise Me" Series.  I will read anything she writes.

Walker is a bad boy, who does bad things, but mostly he just needs to be inspired and Samantha is his inspiration.  I really liked these two and I would be totally interested in reading a book about Samantha's brother Bentley.

Promise Me Light
Promise Me Light - Paige Weaver To be honest I loved the first book much better . The second one gives a good ending to the story (and thank you Paige for not torturing us with third book) I have to admit that I would off taking it to a completely different direction .
Although good it was a bit repetitive and the characters showd kind of childish behavior which I hated , but the suspense and feeling of hopelessness were realistic and captivating . All in all good read !
