Steel's Edge by Ilona Andrews
Steel's Edge - Ilona Andrews

I can't believe this is the end to this. I want more. I need to know what happens to the rest of the characters. I would like to see a young adult series features the juveniles in the series. Gonna miss Edge. Gonna miss these crazy ass characters.

So I kinda felt this ended at a point in the series where I will always wonder how things turned out. Yes, we got the happily ever after, but I felt it was the condensed version. Need a novelette or something so I can figure out how Lark is. I really liked her character.

Charley Davidson, Grim Reaper Extraordinaire, is back in this sexy, suspenseful novel of supernatural shenanigans.

When Charley is rudely awakened in the middle of the night by her best friend who tells her to get dressed quickly and tosses clothes out of the closet at her, she can't help but wonder what Cookie's up to. Leather scrunch boots with a floral miniskirt? Together? Seriously?

Cookie explains that a friend of hers named Mimi disappeared five days earlier and that she just got a text from her setting up a meet at a coffee shop downtown. They show up at the coffee shop, but no Mimi. But Charley finds a message on the bathroom wall. Mimi left a clue, a woman's name. Mimi's husband explains that his wife had been acting strange since she found out an old friend of hers from high school had been found murdered a couple weeks prior. The same woman Mimi had named in her message.

Meanwhile, Reyes Alexander Farrow (otherwise known as the Son of Satan. Yes. Literally) has left his corporeal body and is haunting Charley. He's left his body because he's being tortured by demons who want to lure Charley closer. But Reyes can't let that happen. Because if the demons get to Charley, they'll have a portal to heaven. And if they have a portal to heaven... well, let's just say it wouldn't be pretty. Can Charley handle hot nights with Reyes and even hotter days tracking down a missing woman? Will Cookie ever get a true fashion sense? And is there enough coffee and chocolate in the world to fuel them as they do?

Here is your signpost for the most hilarious listen of the summer: Second Grave on the Left.

Second Grave on the Left is book two in the Charley Davidson series by Darynda Jones.

The humor continues in this second installment of Charley Davidson. It’s over-the-top ridiculous, but so much fun. Expect to laugh out loud.

Charley is one unusual character. Her personality, fearlessness, and sauciness just add to the whole thing. Cookie is Charley’s friend, neighbor, and co-worker. She is a great sidekick. She’s got Charley’s back and brings her own humor into the mix. The main plot revolves around one of Cookie’s friends, so she’s taking a more active role in this investigation. I liked seeing more of Cookie and having her around with Charley.

I had fun with the different mysteries, yes, their is more then one thing going on. I also cried in some areas. I’m glad I don’t have to wait for the next book release; because the ending left me wanting more asap.

The Narrator, Lorelei King, brings Charley and all the characters to life. It’s memorable. Her witty tone and colorful reading add to the listeners enjoyment and bring’s the world and characters to life. I’m so adoring the audiobooks for this series.

I have to say Jones and King are a winning combo. I’m savoring the audiobooks for the Charley Davidson series. I recommend giving this series a listen. You certainly will have a good time!

In this scorching Dark Kings novella, New York Times bestselling author Donna Grant brings together a determined Dragon King used to getting what he wants and an Ice Queen who thaws for no one.

Marked by passion

A promise made eons ago sends Sebastian to Italy on the hunt to find an enemy. His quarry proves difficult to locate, but there is someone who can point him in the right direction – a woman as frigid as the north. Using every seductive skill he’s acquired over his immortal life, his seduction begins. Until he discovers that the passion he stirs within her makes him burn for more…

Gianna Santini has one love in her life – work. A disastrous failed marriage was evidence enough to realize she was better off on her own. That is until a handsome Scot strolled into her life and literally swept her off her feet. She is unprepared for the blazing passion between them or the truth he exposes. But as her world begins to unravel, she realizes the only one she can depend on is the very one destroying everything - a Dragon King.

Dragon Burn is a quick and short novella.

I read the prequels #0.1, #0.2, & #0.3 several years ago, but never got back to reading the others in the series. I knew from those prequels that something was going on, but not fully what. My understanding from Dragon Burn is that their is a Dragon trying to expose the Dragons to humans, but the other Dragons don’t want this, so their is a war going on.

Sebastian is one of the Dragon Kings who is looking for information on one of his brother Dragon Kings. Gianna is the personal assistant to the person Sebastian suspects is behind all the troubles the Dragon Kings are having.

Sebastian and Gianna where nice together. The romance is quick and insta-love. The chemistry is fiery. Theirs danger, trust issues, magic, ulterior motives, and a mystery on who is trying to expose the Dragons.

I enjoyed Dragon Burn though I might have enjoyed it more if I had read more books in the series.

Bayou Moon by Ilona Andrews (quick review)
Bayou Moon - Ilona Andrews

I love this. The Mar family reminds me so much of my husband's family from West Virginia, ha! I really like how tough Cerise is and William is great too.

I have had this series on my tbr for some time. I kept putting it off. For some reason I had it in my head that I didn't care for the Andrews' writing. I was mistaken. Funny, suspenseful, and set in an interesting, magic filled world. Not a lot of sexy times, which a year or so ago I would have considered a drawback, but now I prefer.

On the Edge by Ilona Andrews
On the Edge - Ilona Andrews

I really enjoyed this paranormal romance. It had just the right amount of romance, adventure, action and a great array of characters. I loved reading about the different worlds and how they were sort of magic and non magic copies of each other with a kooky ass strip called The Edge between them. Really liked the lady lead, bat shit crazy and smart.
