Beautiful set up!
Wolverine/Punisher (2004) #1 (of 5) - Peter Milligan,Lee Weeks,Mike Deodato,Hermes Tadeo

This is all set up: The Punisher is tracking criminals, and will eventually get suckered into going up against Wolverine.   How?   They have him tracking down someone Wolverine is sent to track down as well.

Gorgeous.   Even though a lot of this is setting up Castle tracking down these criminals, it shows his will, his dedication to his methods, his patience, and his cunning.   It shows just how far he'll go to get to one man.

And I'm hoping it will be explained that Wolverine is just as deadly, but to be honest, this was mostly Punisher-centric.   It was all about Castle slowly taking out cells in one man's empire, how that man escaped, where he went to, and how someone in that encampment set up Wolverine and Punisher going at each other.

The settlement, Erwhone, is full of escaped criminals, and they all want to kill the Punisher for driving them into hiding away from society.   They've living in the jungle, and not quite in the style they're used to.

So when Harvey Long is driven towards Erwhone, with the Punisher on his tail, everyone is excited.   Except how to keep The Punisher alive, how to drive him further to Erwhone, how to make sure he doesn't just kill Long and leave?   Make sure that those who want Long alive to testify against his former employees hire someone to make sure he stays alive.   Someone like Wolverine.

Well, things are about to get interesting.  I'm going to track down and read the rest of this at some point!

Britannia
Britannia - Peter Milligan

I was pleasantly surprised by Britannia, the new graphic novel (now in trade paperback) from Peter Milligan. Recently not all my graphic novel experiences have been so good, so my expectations were not so high, but this turned out to be without reason.

Set during the rule of Nero both in Rome and in Britannia it follows Antonius Axia, who is called the first detective. He doesn’t do that much of detecting, but since he Sherlocks his way through life by being observing I guess the title is not that far off. However, it is mostly a horror story, so the detective-part wasn’t big enough for my liking. It is still quite a complete story in the limited amount of pages.

What I did like was that every issue was followed by a short essay on different aspects of the stories, like the Vestal virgins, Nero and life in Roman Britain.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

Britannia - Peter Milligan

It's Sherlock in a horror story set in occupied Britannia.  Not your every day comic, but somehow I couldn't get invested.

Sex-filled fantasy story – not for the prudish or faint of heart
The Discipline Volume 1 - Peter Milligan

Melissa, an unfulfilled housewife, is recruited by the Discipline who use sex in their fight against the Stalkers. Confused by it all, she runs away. We discover that this confrontation dates back to Roman times. The plot involves her slow integration into the discipline and it looks as if there'll be another volume

The plot and artwork are not always clear at first and may need persevering. Not brilliant.

Bulls Before Breakfast: Running with the Bulls and Celebrating Fiesta de San Fermín in Pamplona, Spain - Peter N. Milligan,John Hemingway,John Hemingway

Bulls before breakfast: running with the bulls and celbrating fiesta de San Fermin in Pamplona, Spain by Peter Milligan
For my 3000 review at Amazon I will be reading:
Not sure why this subject intrigues me but I recall black and white film from my grandparents at bull fights in Cuba back in the day...
Hemingway had first wrote of this and that's probably why I want to learn more of it. This book is about a man who's run with the bulls many times and why he continues to do it.
Last day of the running and the big fiesta is the 14th of July, run is 8 times during July  and my birthday is 14th. I always thought they ran for me when I was younger, in tribute to me. Rockets blare at 8am to signal the start and the day ends in fireworks!
Love hearing the details of why they ran and the fear and adrenaline and family experience and so much more. Traditions of brothers who don't know one another.
To understand if you have to get down on the streets and experience it for yourself.
Step by step instructions all about the roadways and what to expect as far as curves, places to hide, inclines, etc.
They make plans a year in advance...crazy to hear of latest technology and taking things for granted...count the bulls!
Wow no cameras at all!  So much more to do in the area. the inside tips are enclosed. Love this book for all I learned.
I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).
