Plum Spooky
Plum Spooky - Janet Evanovich
Stephanie Plum, Book 14.5

I Picked Up This Book Because: Continue the series

The Characters:

Stephanie Plum:
Joe Manelli:
Grandma Mazur, Lula, Connie, Tank,

The Story:

I was starting to get underwhelmed with these between the number books but this one turned that right around. I think being full length helped. Diesel was a much more interesting character and I didn’t miss Ranger as much.

The Random Thoughts:

When I started this series I should have started a body count for Stephanie’s cars. There were at least 3 destroyed in this book alone.
I think Tank talked more in this book than all 14 of the previous books put together.

The Score Card:

4 Stars

Plum Spooky by Jaent Evanovich
Plum Spooky - Janet Evanovich

A fun read by Ms Evanovich. One of her novels from this series was made into a movie and I am not sure how good it was but if it was anything like this it had to be fun. In Plum Spooky we have a cast of hysterical characters and a story that mixes some paranormal with a fine mystery and procedural style of writing.

Stephanie Plum is a New Jersey girl who works as a bail bondsman. With her side kick Lula, a walking fashion disaster and the HOT Diesel, a mysterious fixer type, Stephanie is working on tracking down Martin Munch, a brilliant man who is working for the wrong man.

Filled with tons of comedy, bad guys that just have to be read to be believed, a ton of intelligent primates and a lot of heavy flirting, this is a fun and fast read. With only hints at the paranormal, this is a great introduction to the whole paranormal investigator genre. Not to be taken too seriously but well worth spending an afternoon (or longer) reading on a snowy day. I definitely plan on picking up the rest of the Stephanie Plum series. Lots of fun.

Plum Spooky
Plum Spooky - Janet Evanovich While not part of the official by-the-numbers series, this is quite by the numbers reading. Stephanie is hunting Martin Munch and Diesel re-appears. To be honest I dislike Diesel's attitude to Stephanie and while some people might find the scenes where they wake up in the same bed cute, I find them kinda creepy. No means NO dammit. Stephanie ends up being pulled into mystery that involves Diesel's cousin Wulf and a lot of monkeys. It's readable but quite predictable. I'm going to need a break before I read the next Evanovich, I think I'm a bit burnt out on the kooky antics.

Plum Spooky (Stephanie Plum: Between the Numbers)
Plum Spooky - Janet Evanovich This was extremely boring to me at times. The only things that really kept me reading this were Carl the monkey and the fact that Diesel is really growing on me. I don't think I would recommend this to fans of the other books of the series.

Plum Spooky
Plum Spooky - Janet Evanovich The monkey was hysterical. The rest of the story, not so much. Just seemed way too long for a between the numbers story.
