Underwhelming characters with a storyline that failed to pack it's intended punch for me.

Will I read more from this Author?  Probably not.

Overall Rating: 3/5

My Thoughts

If you're a fan of the first two books in this series, then you'll most likely love this one too.  While I didn't hate it, I didn't love it either.  It mostly left me feeling sort of…meh.  I don't really connect with this author's characters.  They all seem rather...blah.  And honestly, I feel like the story is too contrived, and that something essential is lost in the sincerity of the story.  Landon is the only character in this series that I felt any connection with and liked.

Overall, I think this has a great theme to it; overcoming addiction and turning your life around.  It's just that everything was tidied up too easily for me.  If you like your romance novels to not be too angsty, then you might like this. Seriously, I only read this entire 3 book series, because all the titles start with the letter U.  I always need U books for challenges.

Sex Factor:  yes, but minimally explicit.

“We all have scars; some scars can be seen and others cannot. Every scar has a story and every story needs to be told.” --Rebecca Shea, Undone
Undone - Rebecca Shea

Book Title:  Undone

Author:  Rebecca Shea

Narration:  Amy Landon and Zach Villa

Series:  Unbreakable #2

❖❖Why I chose that quote:  It's a good one; and the reason we're here in the first place (every story needs to be told).❖❖

Overall Rating:  4.3/5 Stars

Breakdown of Rating

Plot:  4.3/5

Characters:  4.3/5  Sometimes the "stubbornness" of a particular character in a N/A story can be taken a little too far.  I just want to say..."For fuck sakes, just let yourself love someone all ready."

Theme:  3.8/5

Flow:  4.5/5

Originality:  4/5

Book Cover:  4/5

The Feels:  4.5/5

Narration:  4/5    The guy was really good, I liked him better than most.  The girl was good but forgettable.

Ending:     4.3/5    Cliffhanger:  No

Will I continue the series:  Yes, Unforgiven is the third and final book in this series and it's Lindsay's story.

I’ve found it’s easier to share my body but not my soul. I need no one, yet I crave her.

Self-assured and independent, she doesn’t need me—but she wants me, and undeniably I want her too. At war with myself as I battle the secrets of my past, I don’t know if I can allow her to see the darkest parts of me, the parts I’ve left untouched—undone.

As she chips away at the walls I’ve built for years, I fear those secrets will hold me hostage from love—forever.

My Thoughts:

I loved Landon from Unbreakable, I was rooting for him, because Gabe sort of bored me.  He was just too good.  In the end I realized that Gabe was the one Jessica really was meant to be with.  But...If it wasn't for Landon being in the this second book, I would have skipped it.  I also adored Reagan, and it turns out she's a better fit for Landon, anyhow.  I was also really touched by Reagan's back story.

While I enjoyed this book way more than the first in the series; my only qualm is with Landon and Lindsay's mother.  I just didn't get it, how could she do it?  It was a little more than I could swallow.

"Live so that you may live"
Unbreakable - Rebecca Shea

--Rebecca Shea, Unbreakable.

Jessica Harper is the epitome of perfection. She’s a good daughter, makes excellent grades, and always strays on the safe side of life. The last thing she thought would ever happen was falling in love with her best friend’s brother. But sometimes fate just has a way of bringing two people together.

Wide receiver for the University of Arizona, Gabe Garcia, seems to have it all. When his feelings for Jessica come to surface, Gabe will give up everything to be with her.

But what happens when a tragedy abruptly changes the course of your life? For Jessica and Gabe, everything they thought they knew about each other will be questioned. Sometimes, there are scars in life that are cut too deep to completely heal.

Will their love prove to be unbreakable, or will it shatter and prove fate is just another lie?

I was bored to tears with the first 40% of this book.  I did a lot of skimming.  It was a struggle to keep reading it and I was just waiting for the "tragedy" to happen, because I thought it would get better than, but even that was anti-climatic.  Jessica is one the most boring characters ever.  She is perfect in every way, until the tragedy happens and than she actually gets interesting.  I was going to only give it 2, maybe 2 and 1/2 stars until Landon came along, I loved Landon, enough to bump it up to 3 and 1/2 stars.

Landon has his own story, that is out now called Undone, I think I might give this one a try...maybe.
