The Relic Hunters
The Relic Hunters (The Relic Hunters #1) - David Leadbeater

Title: The Relic Hunter

Series:

Author: David Leadbeather

Series: The Relic Hunters 1

Pages :335

Genre: Adult mystery /thrillers

One of the lost ancient wonders of the world is still out there. . .

In the same style as the Matt Drake series comes The Relic Hunters, a novel packed with camaraderie, action, archaeological mysteries and a brand-new team of hard-hitting, entertaining and highly engaging characters.

Guy Bodie is a relic smuggler, a tough man in a tough world, with self-taught skills in smuggling and combat. He trusts only five people, a proven team, until one of them betrays him, landing him in a hellish Mexican prison. Guy Bodie's chances of survival are diminishing by the minute.

To his surprise, the American CIA then break him out, tell him to hand-pick a team, and start right back at his old job - only this time he's working for them - chasing down the most infamous relics in history and trying to solve the greatest heist - how one of the world's seven ancient wonders was once stolen and then concealed.

With thrilling action across the globe, The Relic Hunters begins a new series in the Matt Drake vein of archaeological mystery, historical adventures and team camaraderie

My thoughts

Rating: 2

Would I recommend it? no

Will I be going on with the series? no

I just couldn't get into the story and I was so hoping to at least wither like it or love, but unfortunately I don't ,there was times I wanted to DNF it so bad and there was times I had to put it down, other then that made me pick it up was that it sounded like it was a book James Rollins would write but once again unfortunatelty its not, at lest with Mr,Rollins books I'm hooked from the very start, don't want to put them down and can't wait to read more of the series . With that said I want to think Netgalley for at least letting me read and review it exchange for my honest opinion.

Relic of the Damned: The Coming - T A Bradley

That's it!  Done! The End! Fin! I can't take it anymore!  This is book is as annoying as it gets.

It might be my mood, but I think the book really does just suck.

I hope everybody gets eaten. Or possessed.  Or butchered.  Or whatever.

Especially everyone who attempts to speak with a southern accent even though they're from Pennsylvania.

Or acts redneck country even though they live in a suburb of Philadelphia.

Sorry guys, not even close .

I don't think I made it far enough to use for a square (nonexistent though it is) so i'm just chuckin' it.

Relic
Relic - Douglas Preston,Lincoln Child

It´s my second read of this book and it is still as fun as I remember. The perfect novel when you just want to read something fastpaced, actionpacked and suspenseful and you don´t want to use a lot of brainpower on the words you are reading. And to all of you who don´t like gore: there is a lot of it in this book.

The science is incredibly wacky (genetics in the 90s), but I loved the setting of the museum and the great characters, especially excentric Agent Pendergast and goodhearted, down-to-earth Lieutenant D´Agosta.

I didn´t like the epilogue, though, because it felt completely out of place and it has only been included to hint at a continuation of the story. I could easily have done without the epilogue.

I´ve read this for the monster square and trust me, there is a monster. I´m just not telling you what kind it is.

Relic Book Review
Relic - Douglas Preston,Lincoln Child

This was fun and not my normal genre. I had these audiobooks recommended by a friend and they are definitely well worth listening too. Though I have to say, if I didn't listen to it I'm not sure I would have finished reading it. The plot didn't totally grab me. The narration did.

The museum is under attack but they don't know by what. After two kids die an investigation is under way. They quickly find out that what's in the museum may actually not even be human? What is attacking these people? It's up to Moriarty and his team to find out.

A good book for a family car ride as it has lots of action and will keep your attention.

The Hidden Relic (Evermen Saga #2)
The Hidden Relic (The Evermen Saga, Book 2) - James Maxwell

Second verse same as the first, a little bit shorter and a little bit worse.

The writing is still plagued by the many problems I noted in book one. Even more unfortunate, the story wasn’t as engaging this time.

The Hidden Relic’s second book syndrome took the form of super lazy writer’s convenience that occasionally snapped the thread by which my disbelief was suspended. Key plot points seemed painfully contrived. Preposterous situations were glossed over or blatantly unexplained. I’m still enjoying the story enough to continue with the series, but that’s in spite of the significant amount of eye-rolling this book induced. I’m still optimistic the quality will improve, but if it doesn’t the story is interesting enough that I’m willing to try locking my inner pedant in a closet for the remaining books.
