worth the wait!
Soul Finder (The Immortal Gene Book 2) - Jacinta Maree,Becky Stephens Editing

I just this very moment finished Soul Finder after having to first reread Soulless due to brain mushiness...It's a thing...I think...anyhow, I feel that I must go on record saying that this series has unceremoniously and repeatedly accosted my emotions..having all sense of Right and Wrong hijacked, held ransom and awaiting the final verdict found only in book #3 !! Proper words fail me at the moment BUT what I can articulate is Holy Gritty Hell shackled to a Crazy/Hot/Volatilly Codependent Love/Lust/insane romance (?!?)!! sound confusing and garbled? I agree! If you are in the market for a dark, disturbing, extremely well written dystopian series (with the same feel as Susan Ee' s Penryn & the End of Days series) then drop whatever it is you are presently doing and pick up book#1 Soulless...after much sleep deprivation you'll thank me for it later!! If you're still on the fence then I'll give you my 2 cents worth and suggest that you should try it, it's definitely worth the time!!

Emotion and snark
Mr. All Wrong - R.C. Stephens

I went into this one expecting a light-hearted, fun read - more of a RomCom. While it does have its share of wit and humor, what I found was an intense story of love, loss, betrayal, family, and secrets. The story is rather lengthy, but it is wonderfully written and the author successively sucked this reader all the way in to Evie and Colton's roller coaster ride of emotion. Evie is a strong woman with plenty of wit and snark - a woman who has overcome her share of obstacles. I can't say that I always liked Colton, but he did grow on me and he and Evie are so good together. With some 'Holy Moly' twists and a Cinderella-ish romance, this one's a winner.

Surfacing by Daniel Stephens
Surfacing - Daniel Stephens
Surfacing is the engrossing story of a young man, hurt beyond belief and grieving, lost to his world but desperately trying to reconnect. Everywhere he turns, he drowns in memories of the life and loves that have been taken from him. So he returns to his roots, to the cabin where he spent the summers with his grandparents, hoping to find some solace. What he finds is a family - a group of people where many of them remember him from his youth. Where he can find out just who he is, and learn to deal with the grief, and maybe even move forwards and find love again.
The descriptions in this book are second to none - whether it is the characters, the wolf, or even the cabin. They will pull you in and keep you reading. It is a story of pain, of loss, of heartbreak. And yet there is also the glimmer of hope, of the future, if only you feed the right wolf! There were no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow, and the pacing was smooth throughout. Whilst this book is also about love, the only thing that is 'shown' is kissing - the rest is fade to black.
This is a poignant story that I thoroughly enjoyed, and would highly recommend to all.
* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion. *

Mr. All Wrong
Mr. All Wrong - R.C. Stephens Stephens proves you can have a captivating romance with a little less heat and an abundance of sweet. Mr. All Wrong mixes heartwarming with emotional and hysterical to create a masterful, modern, hard to resist, fairy tale. Colton is a man with a plan. Except when the plan takes a backseat to the heart he's ignored for so long. All it took was a misplaced pie, a spirited adversary and the courage to follow his heart. Colton and Evie are a refreshing work of art.
