A bittersweet journey
Shoebox Project - dorkorific,Jaida Jones

It was like having the HP days back for sometime; it was bittersweet because I knew how things would end. It was also perfect because that is exactly how the Marauders would have behaved. Peter with his insecurities and hero-worship, Remus with his attempts at keeping the rest in line while Sirius who just bowled everyone over with his personality and charm. Then there was James, as spoiled as Snape said he'd be and pathetically after Lily.

The fanfic just reemphasized the fact that McGonagall rocks and made me like Dumbledore a bit more after all the idiotic things he started doing in the last HP books.

I absolutely loved two things:

I never once missed Harry and the gang

Lupin and Sirius go together unbelievably well!

Thank you authors for this piece.

quote SPOILER ALERT! 2015-07-25 23:25
"Then why did they need you?" Lily's face is hard and set again. "Why not just send Sirius?"

James gapes at her. "Alone?"

Lily doesn't say anything.
"No," says James. "I mean no, Lil. Don't be ridiculous. Anyway, he can't work a defensive spell if his life depended on it, which it would. You know how he gets when his blood's up, all laughing and insane and hopping about talking nonsense and all of a sudden someone would hit him in the chest with a hex before the possibility even occurred to him."

quote 2015-07-25 21:20
"Nice to meet you," Remus says. It's a reflex. If one banged his knee, chances are he'd probably come out with a "how many sugars do you take in your tea?" before a kick."

Reading progress update: I've read 87%.

They didn't!

"If I do I will secure for you ringside seats." Remus busies himself with looking busy. "Perhaps your future lies in the fine art of divination."

"Now that," Sirius says, "is a flat-out ridiculous waste of time."

"You're only saying that," Remus replies vaguely, "because you only ever see drapery in your crystal ball."

"The professor says they're veils," Sirius mutters. "There's no need to bring that rubbish up again, now is there."

They did!

Sirius and Remus:

"There are few in this world who've had this privilege, you know. Various of my governess until I was five, James Potter, and yourself. I should lock it away in my heart of hearts if I were you. DON'T Jesus be careful."

"James Potter? Really? I've joined the ranks of James Potter, if only for one shining moment in the dark with my hand accidentally down your pants? ... We must never tell anyone of these events. Ever."

"I was drunk and naked in the Great Hall. Someone had to help me. And don't be such a prude; I'm telling everyone. I'll be the envy of the whole school. You don't have to button it, I can get that, you know."

The problem is every part is funny as heck and quote-perfect! I think I almost finished the whole thing in pdf but then came across the epub version,so I am enjoying it again.
