The Witch's Vacuum (And Other Stories) - Terry Pratchett
The Witch's Vacuum Cleaner: Deluxe Hardback Collector's Edition - Terry Pratchett
I got a free audio copy, so I decided to give it a whirl. I'm so glad I did! What magic lies within!!
It is a great anthology of short stories. Each one is different and most of them had me engrossed. I did lose track on a couple, but audiobooks always do that to me.
The narrator was great, and I like the use of some sound effects. It brought some of the stories to life.
I really enjoyed The Great Train Robbery, An Ant Called 4179003, and Wizard War. To be fair, this set has me wanted to read more from the author.

The Backbone of the World - Stephen Graham Jones

I read the synopsis and was so intrigued, I had to read it!
Also being Native, I am drawn to all things surrounding Native culture.
This was also my introduction to the author. So I had many great reasons to be happy going into this.
It was kind of weird though. Not gonna lie. It was also kind of genius. You really have no clue what's happening until the very end, and then you totally get everything.
I loved Frog. She was a character.
I really like those kind of stories. Sadly, they can often be the ones you see other people DNFing, because they don't keep going they miss the brilliance of the whole tale.
I look forward to reading more from this author.

EARTH GIRLS ARE DIFFICULT by Frances Pauli
Earth Girls Are Difficult - Frances Pauli

9 short stories that range in tone from creepy to funny. Each has a paranormal theme.

My favorite story was Forbidden which has Lorenzo, a vampire, bemoaning the fact that no one is afraid of him like in the old days. He also craves garlic and has a way to get it but giving in to his craving contradicts his moaning.

Another favorite was Bad Dog who is Hatach who is a hellhound. He is rescued by a human. He is funny also.

El Emperador is also fun as you get the woman's thoughts and the horse's. The horse seems smarter than the woman. They are an interesting mix.

Silent Partner was good with Charles and the tattoo artist. Charles and his significant other, Janine, reminded me of Howard and Eunice in What's Up Doc? I am not sure if Charles was dreaming or if he had the tattoo. It's a little iffy.

The rest of the stories were okay but not as good as the ones I mentioned above. These stories are worth the few minutes it takes to read them.

Almost Interesting - David Spade
Almost Interesting: The Memoir - David Spade,David Spade,HarperAudio
When I saw this one on sale I had to grab it. David Spade is so funny, and I was hoping the book would be too!
It was, and it wasn't. I hate to admit, I liked him more before I read his book.
He's funny, sure, but most of this book was him telling stories about his life. The ones he chose to tell have my eyebrows raised, I mean, maybe he really isn't that interesting after all, but especially with Chris Farley, I was disappointed in what he revealed to us. They really were not the most flattering things, for a guy who says he loved him. You'd figure the tales he told would be more endearing, not embarrassing.
So I feel like I wasted a couple bucks here, but that's ok. Not everyone that you admire will be so admirable in the end.

#1 Learn Pole Dancing - Lillianna Blake
#1 Learn Pole Dancing (Single Wide Female: The Bucket List) - Lillianna Blake,P. Seymour
I saw this for free on Amazon and thought it looked fun. I wasn't wrong either! I literally laughed out loud at one point just picturing a moment in Samantha's life. It was so funny, I even shared it with the hubby.
I would pay to read more, and it looks like I will because no more are free. It's worth it though. Samantha is a relatable character, and her "bucket list" sounds like a ride I want to be on! Even if only through reading.
A short but cute read! I definitely recommend!
