SPY CAMP by Stuart Gibbs
Spy Camp - Stuart Gibbs

Ben is sent to spy camp where he is again chased by Spyder wanting him to go over to their side.  He lets his friends know what is happening since they are involved and he needs their help.  This time Erica has an adult she can rely on since her father does not do a very good job as a spy but still does well with the taking credit side of the job.

Ben is a riot as he tries to figure out where Spyder will get him.  He's still not very good at the spy business but he is getting better.  Alexander is not better and now not only has a daughter who looks down on him but also others.  Ben must rely on Alexander this time to get them all out of this mess.  Alexander is a big kid--he pouts, he has no good ideas, he upsets a lot of people but sometimes he does come through.  I enjoy the other kids at school and camp as well.  It is interesting to watch the relationships develop and how people react one to another as they try to save the free world.

I look forward to the next book.

Spy Camp (Spy School)
Spy Camp (Spy School) - Stuart Gibbs Excellent follow up to Spy School. I thought it was the perfect combination of humor and adventure. Gibbs did an excellent job of plot pacing and character development. Loved the addition of a few new characters. Ben, the main character, is quickly becoming a favorite.

In this installment Ben and his friends at Spy School find out they don't have the summer off but get to attend a CIA run spy camp that for Ben is like a nightmare. In the meantime Ben gets an ultimatum from the bad guys in SPYDER to join them or die.

***Non-spoiler***

I surprisingly really loved this book. It was just as action packed as the first book, spy school. Even more storylines were introduced, and there was some new interesting characters.

Things I did not care for-

Well, this series in general is pretty unrealistic. It doesn't bother me, but I know some people would find this sort of childish. There was the occasional slow parts, like the Civil war reenactment.

Things I liked-

I loved this story and all the action. This was really easy to read, and I finished a lot of it in a short period of time! I just loved how it felt like a mission, and I loved the spy aspect!

I feel like I have a trend here, books for middle schools boys. But I really thinks 10-13 year-old boys would really enjoy this series. If you like the sound of spies, this series might be a good read for you! I can't wait for the next book in April, Evil Spy School!

SPY CAMP Stuart Gibbs
Spy Camp - Stuart Gibbs

Stuart Gibbs has slowly broken into the teen spy books scene. The first novel in the series was called Spy School, it was childish and un-believable. A guy out of nowhere turns up on the doorstep and takes away the 12 year old to go to a Private boarding school. Within an hour they leave. Yeah.

Anyway I was not sure if I would even read Spy Camp, until I read reviews that compared it to the Alex Rider and Jason Steed series.

This is much better, more action and plenty of adventure and more for tweens, great characters, good original story I enjoyed it. Stuart is a good writer, it good clean fun and interesting to read.
