The Wild Road
The Wild Road - Gabriel King

For years, this was the favourite book of one of my friends. She'd been telling me for ages to read it, and apparently thought I wasn't doing that fast enough because one day, she just delivered it in the mail to me, so I didn't have an excuse any more and could read it immediately.

And even though it has been years since I read it, I've always found it a special book. It was the first real book with animals as main characters and animal POVs that I read, and it took a while to fully realize that it was done very good in the book. The cats really act like cats most of the time, and are not just furry, four-legged humans.

The story and the writing were nice as well, and even though I've never managed to read the sequel, I look back to reading The Wild Road with pleasure.

Wild Night Road: A Novel of the Kinraven
Wild Night Road: A Novel of the Kinraven - Kara Legend This review was written for LibraryThing Member Giveaways.

I love the introduction of all the new supernatural characters, but i just felt that for a novella, too much was happening to fast. The storyline was't jumpy but it felt "overstuffed". I fell the author has a much bigger story to tell and should consider turning it into a novel.

The Wild Road by Marjorie M Liu
The Wild Road: A Dirk & Steele Novel - Marjorie M. Liu

Starting a novel with a character that doesn't know who they are can be done or overdone but this time it was amazing. Mix it with a wonderful take on gargoyles and this tale was enthralling. The pace was great and I loved reading this in one sitting. Like everything I have read from this author i highly recommend you pick it up and sit back for a wild ride.

The Wild Road
The Wild Road - Gabriel King

note: this is kind of the first review I've ever written, so I'm probably not very good at this...

So I just finished reading 'The Wild Road' by Gabriel King. I've read it before in a Dutch translation when I was younger. Possibly to young to really understand what it was about. In any case I remembered little of it so it was once again a new read.

It's a story about a young kitten 'Tag' who goes on a journey to save the world and becoms a cat.
It's a cross between a coming of age story and an epic journey.

Personally I like how there's a multitude of characters, among which several women (or females - as it's about cats). They're a diverse group and each has it's own way of adding to the journey.

All in all I found it an enjoyable read!
