Eh and Meh
Night Storm - Tracey Devlyn

More murder mystery than romance, especially the first half of the book. Heroine keeps mum about what could be a crucial piece of evidence in the murder because, she's embarrassed she made a  mistake? Not sure but super annoying and dragged out. There was a love triangle trying to happen but even that couldn't muster up the energy to really thrive (much like me trying to write this review). Sometimes the interaction between our leads would draw me in but there wasn't enough to keep me hooked. The ending with the villain and motive was a bit wackadoodle too, for how sedate the rest of the book was. There's glimpses of writing I liked but not sure there was enough to have me giving another book in the series a go.

Night Storm - Tracey Devlyn

Her eyes glinted with interest. “Do you?”

"Do I what?”

"Have a weapon on your person?” Her gaze swept over his body, pausing at various locations as if to look for a revealing bulge. Desire stirred low in his gut. If she kept searching his body in that way, she would find a bulge of a different sort.

“Yes,” he said in a low voice. “I carry two pieces on me at all times. Sometimes three.” He widened his legs and set his palms flat against the cushioned squabs. “Care to guess where?”

Night Storm - Tracey Devlyn

“I’ve had to make many adjustments in the last five years in order to survive until the next day. One rather important alteration I made was to no longer live and breathe by the whim of a man.”

The skin around his cheeks tightened; his eyes grew hard, fathomless. “Interesting to hear that you think you ever did.”

Night Storm
Night Storm - Tracey Devlyn

I received a digital copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely loved Night Storm because it was so perfectly filled with mystery, excitement and just the right pinch of longing and love to bring readers a heart thumping good read.
I really liked that the author appreciated the concept of not all is as it seems and all good things are worth the wait, because she fulfills both of them so well.
Cameron and Charlotte are wonderful together. Right from the start you totally feel for them and the journey that they're on and its great how the author brought them back to eachother once again. Love stories with a reunite is always tricky but she pulls it off fabulously.
Night storm is romantic, suspenseful, and vivid. I enjoyed it from beginning to end.
