This was a fun list to research. I couldn't use any out of print books, but some of those mid-century novels are bananas.

I'm not all that worried about the big literary awards, but the non-fiction longlist for the NBA is pretty dad-book-centric this year, considering how many awesome non-fiction came out. I mean, why would you leave out The Empathy Exams and Bad Feminist and include YET ANOTHER book about the German occupation of France? Is there even anything left to write about that particular period? I could go to my local used bookstore and pick up- I kid you not- at least 10 different titles from different authors on that right now (and probably for less than $20, since they're oversaturated).
And yet another self-entitled SPA bitching about readers having the nerve to leave reviews instead of... critiques. Suzanne Dome lays out concisely and clearly just how stupid all these readers are. She oughta know, after all- she's EDUCATED!
Have some paper towels handy to wipe up your coffee with. That should tell you something.
