All That's Unforgiven
All That's Unforgiven - Constance Phillips Betty and Sam thought they had forever, but when trust becomes broken so does the heart. All That's Forgiven is a tale of redemption that begins with anguish but takes the characters and readers full circle by journey's end. What I adore about Ms. Phillips style of narrative is that she seems to be speaking right to me. From emotion to description, to application. Her words are right on point. Her characters are hard to resist and with each story I feel like I'm discovering something new. With each little piece of heart she takes, by journey's end she gives it right back to you. I love that!

BLOG TOUR REVIEW - Unforgiven by Ruth Clampett
Unforgiven - Ruth Clampett
Unforgiven is the first book by Ruth Clampett that I have read, but if this is any indication of the quality of her work, it certainly won't be the last.
This story is slightly different from the normal, as you meet two young men who are both players. It is only as the story progresses, that you find out that one of them is gay and has feelings for the other. This book details their reactions, and how they deal with, as well as finding out secrets of abuse that one had kept quiet about.
This book is intense, on every level, and is absolutely fantastic. It is extremely well written, with no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt the reading flow. Each chapter is clearly marked so you know who is speaking at which point. With a well rounded cast of characters, including secondary characters, this story will draw you in and keep you gripped until the very last page. And what a last page!!! I am a sucker for epilogues as I'm always nosy and want to know 'what happens next'. Epilogues give me this, and this one delivered in spades. I loved every moment of this book, the high and the lows, the slow acknowledgement of self, the happiness that comes from finding out who you really are. Absolutely recommended by me.
* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion. *

My Thoughts

If you're a fan of the first two books in this series, then you'll most likely love this one too.  While I didn't hate it, I didn't love it either.  It mostly left me feeling sort of…meh.  I don't really connect with this author's characters.  They all seems rather...blah.  And honestly, I feel like the story is too contrived, and that something essential is lost in the sincerity of the story.  Landon is the only character in this series that I felt any connection with and liked.

Overall, I think this has a great theme to it; overcoming addiction and turning your life around.  It's just that everything was tidied up too easily for me.  If you like your romance novels to not be too angsty, then you might like this. Seriously, I only read this entire 3 book series, because all the titles start with the letter U.  I always need U books for challenges.

Sex Factor:  yes, but minimally explicit.

Fallen Series by Lauren Kate

Fallen by Lauren Kate is a book series about fallen angels and love that overcomes everything.  I know that it sounds like every other young adult fallen angel book out there, but this series just has something special.  I have loved this series since it came out.  There are a lot of mixed reviews of it out there, but it is an amazing series.  Yes some parts are slow and yes some parts are a bit predictable, but this book is still amazing.  This series has amazing characters and an amazing story line.  Lauren Kate's writing is beautiful in my opinion and I absolutely loved her series.

Lauren Kate recently released a new book that is connected to the Fallen series.  I thought that the series was over and done with so I was a bit confused when I saw that there was a new book in the series called Unforgiven.  I then found out that this book was about one of my favorite characters in the series and it explained part of his past and it gave reasons as to why he acted the way that he acted.  I got the book for Christmas and I read it right away and wow.  It felt so good to be in this world again and seeing these characters again.  This book was beautifully written and the story was amazing.  It was a beautiful way to add to this world and to this series.

I highly recommend reading this series.  I've seen people reading Fallen and then stop in the middle, but you have to stick with it.  It gets to be an amazing series and it is worth it so don't give up.

ā€œ'Iā€™m sorry,' I whispered to the baby as I crushed the last memory in my hand, knowing he would never hear me, but hoping he would one day forgive me for killing his father.ā€
Unforgiven (The Unseen Trilogy Book 2) - Stephanie Erickson

This was fast paced and hard to put down. Mac is now part of the Unseen, but she is far from emotionally stable. She makes some terrible decisions in light of the tragedy that made her choice to join the Unseen. Then on her first assignment, something goes terrible wrong and even worse the people she loves are in more danger than ever. In a fight that is slowly costing her everything, she has to prove to herself and the enemy who she is once and for all. So excited for Undivided!
