Many things can be said about Wethering the Storm. For one thing this series with its character seem to be enjoyed by many, and I don't quite understand why. Granted I had my issues with the first in this series so the fact that the second didn't appeal to me wasn't a big surprise. However, despite my issues with the first installment, I'll give it that it was addictive. It kept throwing drama at the reader without hesitation, and at least it appeared to go forward. With the second installment the series missed that studious flow of drama. Sure, it's there, but it's far from interesting. Never was there a moment when I actually thought any of those causes of drama was enough to change the fact that Tru and Jake would work through it or make them evolve as characters. The plot in this one is threadbare at best, and the drama unexciting.

That's what this book missed. Say what you will of the characters, they might be frustrating, some will say, others will enjoy them, but in the end this book doesn't have anything to work with when it comes to the plot. They don't move forward, and I believe, considering all, that this is a sequel that isn't needed, at all.

Wethering the Storm
Wethering the Storm - Samantha Towle A touching love story. I couldn't put it down for the last half. There were tears shed. But I do enjoy a happy ending.

REVIEW

Wethering the Storm

By:  Samantha Towle

Genre: Rock fiction

Rock fiction is one of my favorite genres - I have read so many I often wonder if it is time to give it a rest, but then I find a series like The Storm Series and I say NEVER!.

So much about the story has been said before, The Bad Boy of Rock meets The Girl and he changes his wicked ways - done one hundred and one times.  Yes, but this one is different, at least I think so.

What I loved about the story:

It is well written, with great characters and a really good story line - predictable at times, but I loved it anyway.

I think I'm odd woman out on this one
Wethering the Storm - Samantha Towle

I did enjoy the story and it was good to see more of Tru and Jake. I have to say all their hot-headedness and jealousy issues got to me and I was bored at times, wondering where the story was going. It seemed like they were either fighting because someone got jealous or they were making up. The overall story was nice and it was good to see them back in a good place by the end. Jake can be such a sweet guy when he puts his mind to it. I just wish there hadn't been so much arguing and jumping to conclusions.

Wethering The Storm (The Storm, #2) - Samantha Towle This was so...

This was just so...

PREDICTABLE!!

Wethering the Storm starts off great for me and I was really enjoying the read, even the addition to Jake's POV was nice...then I saw the predictable drama ball being thrown and I started to cringe and pray to the book gods that it wasn't going to happen. But it did...oh yeah, it totally did...and that's when I lost all interest.

There probably wasn't much Samantha could do if she didn't want to take the "Jake's relapsed" road, which he didn't. So then there is only one predictable drama road left...and yep, she took that one. Even when the big event happened, I just didn't care. I knew everything was going to be fine, so I will admit-I skimmed from about 60% on. Tru's immaturity level bothered me- A LOT too. I guess I expected for her to act a tad bit more grown up... Some parts I was rolling my eyes. But that doesn't make it bad- just, predictable.

I cant complain about the writing, it was executed flawlessly. Its just that the story was a tad on the boring side for me. It ended in sugar coated sweetness and all is now right in the world.

Would I recommend...probably not. I don't think you are missing anything. Sorry!! It was just OK for me.
