Winterveil - Jenna Burtenshaw

I was just not feeling this book at all. Maybe this trilogy as a whole was disappointing. Even for a fantasy, the resolutions felt very unrealistic and frankly, half-assed attempts at wrapping up the story.

Now I don’t think it’s a horrid waste of time. I’m sure younger audiences will find this captivating for a short period of time, which is why it receives a 2/5.

Shadowcry - Jenna Burtenshaw

Let's just say I found myself skimming near the end.

It was a pretty decent premise, but none of the characters were developed enough for me to want to know more of them. I will still be continuing on with the series to see if the story gets more detailed.

Wintercraft
Wintercraft - Jenna Burtenshaw interesting world building but the author is far too interested in the tortured asshole character type. also Garth Nix did it better.

Blackwatch - Jenna Burtenshaw It was OK. Think I might leave book 3 for awhile though.

Blackwatch (Wintercraft)
Blackwatch - Jenna Burtenshaw I really like this series. The magic is interesting, and well developed. My favorite part has to be the fact that there is no love triangle. Sure much of the story focuses on Edgar, and Kate running for their lives together, but that is what they are actually doing running for their lives not stopping for make out time, or heartfelt confessions. It's refreshing to read a ya that isn't all about the love story.
