I saw this video by gingerreadslainey, and I decided to try this one myself.

1. Which book has been on your wish list the longest amount of time?

Knowing Darkness: Artists Inspired by Stephen King. Which is really expensive, but it’s one of those books you add to your wishlist for the day when you’re rich. Because it’s incredibly tempting, yes.

2. Which book has been on your wish list for the shortest amount of time?

Pure by Julianna Baggott. I recently saw someone list is as one of their favorite books of 2013. I looked into it further, and it sounded like my kind of book. Gross, weird, and dark. I’m willing to give that a try.

3. What book have you currently got on order?

Currently nothing, but soon I shall be getting at least one Amazon gift card. When that happens, I can already tell you that I Have No Mouth, And I Must Scream by Harlan Ellison is happening.

4. What book(s) are you getting for Christmas?

I’ve gotten a bunch of books for Christmas already. But I do know that I still have a few on the way. An awesome friend of mine (kettlebaron here on tumblr) is giving me Mister Touch by Malcom Bosse, Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke, and Gentleman Junkie by Harlan Ellison.

5. Which book on your wish list is the most anticipated read?

All of them are to some degree, but I think the prize goes to The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker. Again with kettlebaron, because she’s the one that read it and raved about it, and she made it sound like the sort of thing I’d love.

6. Which book are you most hesitant to read?

Stormbringers by Philippa Gregory. I read Changeling earlier this year, but the more distance I put between myself and that book, the more I realize that while I liked it, it maybe wasn’t worth reading two or three more books in the same vein. I could open the book and wonder why I ever thought that, but for the moment, I feel kind of meh about the whole thing.

7. Which book on your wish list do you know the least about?

Pick any Philip K. Dick book I have on there, and I think that counts. His books are so strange and outside of normal convention that reading the summary on the back wouldn’t do you much good anyway, so may as well leave it a mystery.

8. Which books have you added to your wish list because they have had good reviews?

Too many to name. I tend to live on recommendations. All the books I have on there definitely interest me, but I also have it on good authority that they’re considered good books.
