#Audiobook Review: White Hot by Ilona Andrews
White Hot: A Hidden Legacy Novel - Ilona Andrews,Renée Raudman

Listening to the audiobook of White Hot is a “reread” for me. I reviewed the book in May 2017, and my review still stands as I originally wrote it. Here is an excerpt from my original review:

“The overall and book-specific stories are both equally engrossing. The layers and complexity make the book fascinating rather than confusing. The conspiracy and plot are smart and interesting. The action is solid and edge-of-your seat.

“The romance between Nevada and the little understood Rogan also blossomed during White Hot. Rogan continued his relentless pursuit, but also opened up to Nevada, realizing she can match him. She may not be his equal, and he sometimes does things to “protect” her which only frustrated her, but he’s learning how to allow her to make her own decisions. There are many hurdles to jump, and I really want them to make it.”

By listening to the book, I picked up plot nuances that I missed when reading the book the first time. However, It is Renée Raudman’s performance that makes the story so much more. While the writing team of Ilona Andrews is an amazing storyteller in its own right, Ms. Raudman adds so much feeling and emotion to their stories that I can't help but get choked up every time I listen to one their books. She breathes life into these amazing characters and tales, making them ones I would listen to again and again. She takes an A book and makes it an A+.

In the end, White Hot is an amazing, entertaining story, and coupled with Ms. Raudman’s talent, the book is unforgettable.

My Rating: A+

Narration: A+

WHITE HOT BY: ILONA ANDREWS
White Hot - Ilona Andrews

<!-- x-tinymce/html -->

I was so freaking excited to get my hands on this book! Anything Ilona Andrews is automatically an auto-buy for me. And I had been waiting for the sequel to Burn for Me for sooooo long. Of course, it did not disappoint. I was up till 3am the day I got this because I could not put it down until I got to the very end! I enjoyed jumping right back into Nevada's adventures in Private Investigations.

Ilona Andrews does Urban Fantasy so well. Her world building is always on point and the only thing I can say about this one is that it is so well done that I will be crushed if this series doesn't carry on past the slated trilogy. I love the whole magic based hierarchy with the Primes and their unique powers. It is so well thought out and executed that I think there are so many stories to be told in this world. I could easily see it flourishing along the same lines as the Kate Daniels series, and that's saying a lot considering how epic that series is!

I love the push and pull and undeniable chemistry between the Nevada and Mad Rogan. Though to be honest I was kind of hoping for a little more of the slow burn, maybe more so as a sign that they might consider further expansion with the series. But there's no denying that Nevada and Mad Rogan were inevitable. As much as I love the two of them together, I am so enamored with Nevada's whole family. They are each individually interesting and compelling, and quite a handful, but all of them together is 110% magical and completely riveting! I need to know more about each of them! Every new little bit of info we get on each of them only makes me NEED to know more. I freaking love this crazy family!

I am so glad that we don't have long to wait to get the next book in the series, I just hope it isn't the last! If Urban Fantasy is your thing, I highly recommend that you give this series a try (and the Kate Daniels series too!). You will not be disappointed, this dangerous duo does UF like no one's business!

Burn for Me: A Hidden Legacy Novel
Burn for Me - Ilona Andrews *No spoilers.

4.5 Stars. CHEAH.

Burn For Me by Ilona Andrews

So, originally, I got denied by Edelweiss for an e-arc, but then I got a paper ARC at BEA. *evil cackle

SUCK IT, EDELWEISS.

At least until I request another e-arc from you. At which point, you can stop sucking it.

Anywho.

Burn For Me. Strong, funny, likable MC. Sexy, badass, cocky hero who has some fantastic one-liners. Witty banter. The beginnings of romance minus the cheese. Quirky, lovable family members. Strong world-building. Magic. Lots of action. Just a damn good time.

Did we expect anything less from these two fantastic authors?

I haven't had much interest in any new urban fantasies lately, but this book brought me right back to what I've always loved about the genre.

More in-depth review to come closer to release, which is frikkin far away in OCTOBER. Sucks to be you guys. *evil cackle again

Oh, but wait. I'll be doing a giveaway of my arc, because I'm generous and kind hearted and other words like that.
