Review Haute de L'Amour
Haute de L'amour: Ashamed to Love - Beneath the covered bridge. - Willow Fae von Wicken

The description of this "book" from GR:

"On the day Mary Beniot was engaged to Rheal Chaisson, she did what any girl of 15 in 1942 would do; faint, in St. Luc’s Cathedral. It served her papa right! Mary was not insane of joy that her papa chose a rotten cabbage for a husband.

Le Père de Curee Fitzpatrick called Mary Benoit forward. She faced the congregation along side Monsieur Chaisson. Jean-Claude, her papa, was invited next. A bewildered Mary was gauchely bumped, as her papa and Rheal shook hands across her front. The Priest, blessed the union announcing their engagement to Saint Agnies, the etiquette society of the front pews, the humble Saint Antonie of the back pews, and to the horrified shock of Mary, and her beloved Michèle Papineau.

Mary was traded for hogs. What a generosity, hein? Rheal bartered with Jean-Claude the local bootlegger. Jean-Claude was pleased. His daughter Mary would run the household of a porc farm, he’d have one less mouth to feed. Rheal gave him steady work.

Rheal in mid 40s was a papa of seven. He reeked of ode-to-hog, his shirt oozed of chewing tobacco, and they say he lost his second wife of thirty during childbirth. The women of the villages knew better. It was not a big secret that he was twice a widower by his own drunkard hand. The heat of the Grand Cathedral was suffocating. Mary felt her body sway. Her knees went weak beneath her. That’s when it all went blank.
  "

My review:

Ode-to-hog

A few poor words I'll use to flog
my admiration for the hog.

If you had to choose between the two,
this book or hog what should you do?

Here's a clue, the hog's not fakin'
forget the book and buy the bacon.

I wouldn't feed this "book" to the hogs.

My love from another star or why do I do this to myself?

Curse you Korean Dramas, with your feelings and gorgeous actors. I hate you! I love you! Awww, why do you make me crave you so and then leave me to wallow in my emotions?

Why do you make me forsake sleep to binge watch every episode because I have to KNOW and can't let the day end without knowing.

For those that are still reading, yes I finished the show. It officially goes on my top 10 list of favorite k-dramas.

The story:

My Love From Another Star (별에서 온 그대)

Starring Kim Soo Hyun and Jeon Ji Hyun

Do Min Joon (Kim Soo Hyun) is an otherworldly beauty, literally. After crash landing on Earth 400 years ago, Min Joon has diligently observed humans for centuries, ultimately coming to cynical conclusions. On top of being a super babe, Min Joon's got enhanced vision, hearing and agility — all the more reason to believe he's superior to everyone on Earth. That is, until he pursues the beautiful actress Cheon Song Yi (Gianna Jun) for a romance out of this world.

from Drama fever My Love from Another Star

I loved every single moment of this show. Which is rare for me because I usually get bored somewhere in the middle for a couple of episodes.

Couple of things I take away from this:

1)  enough said

2) The charm of the Steven Spielberg classic E.T. has never been more clear to me than here

3) The importance of prioritizing the use of one's super powers:

4) The degree to which my feelings have been affected by this drama and k-drama in general is clearly the work of

Lies, Poop, and why can I not give this book MINUS 10 stars?
Freedom Sailors: The Maiden Voyage of the Free Gaza movement and how we succeeded in spite of ourselves - Greta Berlin,William L. Dienst

Wow. Talk about a diaper load. This book is SO absolutely full of C***.

This is a grandiose misinformation and propaganda fest.

I had to suck it up to read the whole thing. I did not throw it accross the room only because I did not own the book. UGH.

There were so many BLATANT falsehoods I could not believe it. The more I learn about some of the contributors though, I am not terribly surprised.

I went and got a copy from my local library after seeing Greta's name come up a lot on FB recently. Then I saw a book I was not sure about and went to the author's goodreads page only to see that she wanted to read this book. I see Gretas name and I think... hey, I need to know more about her....

I was also disgusted by the author's nasty attacks on any negative reviewer, threats, and just general malevolence.

Oh, and that library? They got a BIG earful about the book.

What was I thinking? *shakes head*
Bigfoot, You ARE the Father! - Bytch Williams

Ok.  Yeah.  What did I expect from a book called "Bigfoot You Are The Father"?

Well, I probably expected Bigfoot to be the father.  I should've expected to be wrong.

This is supposed to be an erotic parody, which I would take to mean it should be funny.  It wasn't funny in the sense that I was rolling around on the floor in hysterics.  It was funny in the sense that it was so freaking weird that I didn't know what to do with myself.

This girl, Denitra.  Ooh boy!  She likes her monsters, I mean, she really likes her monsters.

She's on the Murray Slobitch Show (yup, you read it right) to find out who her baby daddy is.

Given the fact that the contenders for fatherhood are Bigfoot, Tokeloshe, Chupacabra and an Icelandic Elf, you should be able to look at the kid and see who the father is.

Denitra flashbacks to to her erotic encounters with the monsters, all except for Bigfoot, which I kind of wanted to read after all the others.

At any rate... I'm gonna spoil this for you here -- true to trash tv form -- none of them are the father.  No more spoiling, I won't tell you who the father is.

After all of that though, where do we find Denitra at the end of the book?  Ack!  She's sucking off a Yeti while getting done from behind by Murray Slobitch.

Bwahaha... ok, yeah.  That is funny!
