I've come to a very nerve-wracking decision. I need to just jump in the deep end on being a published writer. I've been talking about it for years and it's time to actually take steps to make that happen.
So, I am announcing here and now that I need beta readers. I have a few unbiased opinions on my finished work but want to get a wider base. The story itself is a YA fantasy/horror, though I would say urban fantasy is the best place for it.
Mostly I am looking for first impressions, suggestions, opinions, harsh criticism, critique of my grammar, whatever really. This needs to be shaped into a good enough story to offer for sale, that's my goal.
Anyway! Here is the blurb, if anyone would be interested in giving this a read send me a message.
Micah Levensque is an unusual young man with an even more unusual career. He is a bounty hunter for things that go bump in the night. All those monsters that mommy said didn't exist, he gets paid to hunt them down and dispose of them. Only one obstacle is in his way to making his dream a reality, Delia Michaels. Assigned to him as an on the job trainer, she has a reputation of getting her new recruits killed...and quickly. But, that was all just rumor right?
If this goes well I will make my way to an editor and cover artist, so if anyone knows of someone drop me a line. *deep breath* Okay, I kind of feel like throwing up now.
One of the book publicists I work with, SamiJo Lien from JSK Communications Inc., is attending the JAMES RIVER WRITER'S CONFERENCE and will be speaking at three of the panels throughout the weekend.
