Raphael, Vampires In America 1
Raphael - D.B. Reynolds

Malibu, California-home to rock-and-roll gods and movie stars, the beautiful, the rich... and vampires.

Powerful and charismatic, Raphael is a Vampire Lord, one of the few who hold the power of life and death over every vampire in existence. Thousands call him Master and have pledged absolute loyalty on their very lives. But when, in a brazen and deadly daylight attack, a gang of human killers kidnaps the one female vampire he'd give his life for, Raphael turns to a human investigator to find his enemies before it's too late.

Cynthia Leighton is smart, tough and sexy, a private investigator and former cop who's tired of spying on cheating spouses and digging out old bank accounts. When Raphael asks for her help in tracking down the kidnappers, Cyn's happy to accept. But she soon realizes her greatest danger comes not from the humans, but from Raphael himself.

Battling Russian mobsters and treacherous vampires, and betrayed by those they trusted, Cyn and Raphael find themselves fighting for their lives while caught up in a passion of blood and violence that is destined to destroy them both

My Thoughts

I really enjoyed this one, Cyn & Raphael have some petty smokin' chemistry. It is interesting how the vampire hierarchy is structured. While I did like Cyn and Raphael together, it is so frustrating watching them maneuver around each other, neither wanting to admit to needing the other. Lots of action, some much needed ass kicking and with the sparks that fly between Cyn and Raphael some very hot sex.

My Thoughts

This was the perfect short read, interesting characters, great chemistry. Many times a short story is just to short to really get any character development or connection to the characters but not with this one, you get the best of a novel in fun quick read.

Naughty but Nice
Bare Essentials - Leslie Kelly,Jill Shalvis

This review is only for Naught But Nice by Jill Shalvis

Lingerie model Cassie Tremaine Montgomery intends to have her revenge on the citizens of her hometown—starting with seducing the sheriff, Sean "Tag" Taggart. Tag, however, isn't cooperating. He's more than willing to set the sheets on fire with her, but he's asking for more than just sizzling sex…. He knows Cassie's not as tough as she pretends. And he knows she cares about him—even if she won't admit it. So he'll just turn up the heat until she concedes there's more between them than this red-hot passion.

While I liked Cassie & Tag, and watching them trying to fight their attraction to each other, especially Cassie. I liked Kate , Stacie, Diane....but the back story and the "Old" generation with their whispering, and judgement and the "you must be just like your mother"...it just bugs me as a story line...but that aside I liked all the other parts of the story.

Ripped
Ripped - Sarah Morgan

~The Blurb~

"Wardrobe malfunction" doesn't begin to cover it.

With a rip louder than the "I dos," Hayley's hideous bile-yellow bridesmaid dress explodes. She's always had enviable curves, but nearly naked wasn't quite the look she'd been going for at her ex's wedding.

She's rushed from the altar under the best man's designer tux jacket. Hayley's expecting a blast of icy disapproval from sexy, sophisticated Niccolò Rossi—his usual reaction to anything she does. What she gets is a kiss that nearly melts what's left of her polyester nightmare gown.

It's impossible on a million levels. Exuberant engineer Hayley and buttoned-up lawyer Nico have never seen eye to eye—but skin to skin? Oh, mio… So when Nico shows up at her flat on Christmas Day to give her a fabulous gift—himself—Hayley's delighted to do the unwrapping. But it's just a holiday fling. By New Year's Day, she'll come back to her senses…unless Nico's sensual skills tear away all her resolve
