Boystown 5
Boystown 5: Murder Book - Marshall Thornton

My favorite in the series so far...but man, my heart takes another beating.

Marco Polo
The Travels of Marco Polo - Edward W. Marsden

Another poor selection among my classics.  First time I've seriously considered quitting a book. But I can't. However, I can, and will, shelve it for awhile. Will continue it in a couple of weeks after my trip.

Why? It's boring and repetitive. Just the same descriptions of various places he visited in Asia. Inhabitants religion, currency, ruler, and wildlife.  Very factual. It's not really a novel. And, as they are all the old names for cities and countries (?), I'm usually lost.

One reviewer said his copy saved him as it had a glossary of the names, along with their current ones, but alas, my copy does not.

It's a very OLD travel novel of facts. Marco go home.

Boystown 4: A Time For Secrets - Marshall Thornton

”You’re mine.”

Easily the best and most intriguing mystery yet. But damn...my heart is getting a workout here.

Boystown 3
Boystown 3: Two Nick Nowak Novellas - Marshall Thornton

My heart...my heart. I’m not sure I expected the emotional gut punch hidden amongst these mysteries. Gaaahhh. My heart breaks for these men especially during this time of discovery.

Boystown 1
Boystown: Three Nick Nowak Mysteries - Marshall Thornton

I mean come on...for someone who lived her teenage years in love with Magnum PI, this series is hitting all my buttons. Set in the glorious 80s in Chicago with our PI Nick Nowak who yes is described sounding a lot like our dear Tom Selleck but who thankfully is gay gay gay and who loves sex. The investigations are intriguing and equally entertaining. The men are fabulous and the references to 80s culture is spot on. I’m in love already and can’t wait for more.
