quote 2018-10-19 11:30
Rory never was any good at keeping Bradley from his thoughts. And damned if he wouldn't do anything – even give him up for good – that Bradley wanted. He had no self control, no care to how it would affect himself or how it would make him feel. If Bradley said jump, he wouldn't even stop to ask how high. He'd just do it. A snap of the fingers and his will shredded to pieces. Because Bradley held the string that tugged at his heart and controlled him. All he had to do was use it.

“Football players are all different, but their focus is the same— winning, whether it’s on the field or off.”

“Yeah,” Riley sighs. “It’s the same everywhere. Most of the guys I’ve met just want to hook up.”

“I think I’d marry the first guy who hit on me in the bookstore.”

quote 2018-10-12 11:30
“No more words, tonight,” he asked, brushing aside that long fringe. “Tonight is for us and no one else.”
Rory smiled and the light in his eyes dimmed. “Tomorrow will come too soon, Bradley. And when it does, it will be the end for us. Forever,” he warned.
There were no words with which to reply to that. Nothing Bradley could think of that would be a suitable response or that could explain the lump it placed at the back of his throat. All he could do was fake a smile and kiss Rory, in the hope that, somewhere between now and morning, things might change.

quote 2018-10-05 11:30
“So,” Tracy spoke up after nearly five minutes of quiet, “can we just recap for a moment?” he asked, peeking up through his fringe, which had fallen down because of the strange tilt of his head. He looked like he was trying to avoid eye contact by staring at the grass beneath them, but couldn't help but sneak a peek at the same time. “You think you're in love with me and you've had these feelings for a very long time. And, you've waited until three weeks before you move to another town to tell me that?”

quote 2018-09-28 11:30
He took a breath, tried to calm down, then realised that it wasn't going to happen. Not until he knew what he was really dealing with. He tossed the blanket aside and rose to his feet. “I need a drink.”
“A drink?” Vanos frowned and looked around the room, as though a beer would materialise out of nowhere. “Oh, perhaps we can toast together?” he suggested, just as River took a step towards his side counter.
Stopping in his track, at those ridiculous words, he looked back at Vanos and frowned. “It's not for a toast, you fruit loop.” He shook his head and crouched in front of the cabinet, to reach into the hidden drawer at the base. As soon as it popped open, he grabbed the bottle of whiskey he'd stashed there and unscrewed the cap. He took a long swig, then stood and faced Vanos again. But the hope in the Griffin's eyes was so naïve and didn't match the fury he'd seen there just six weeks ago. It was so disconcerting that he took another drink. “Jesus...what did I ever do to deserve this?”
