Rock Chick Revolution by Kristen Ashley
Rock Chick Revolution - Kristen Ashley

Ally was my least favourite Rock Chick from the start. But this book showed her in a new light. She had brains and knew when to back off and let the others help. She still got in my nerves from time to time and there were too many sex scenes in this story, but I actually liked the last book of the series quite a lot. 4 stars.

Hunter Huntsman’s Story
Ever After High: Hunter Huntsman's Story - Shannon Hale

Ever After High, Book .6

I Picked Up This Book Because: Continue the series

The Characters:

Hunter Huntsman:
Mr and Mrs Huntsman:

The Story:

Hunter seems very sweet and sensitive and I really hope that he and Ashlynn Ella find a way to be together. They seem perfect for each other.

I do understand Hunter’s animal concerns but the adult in me says that his is messing with his family’s livelihood and that I can’t abide by.

The Random Thoughts:

3 Stars

More Dark Comedy Than Horror
Witch Hunter - J.Z. Foster

This would be a killer movie. A spit your popcorn all over the people in front of you movie. Hollywood are you listening ? A cult classic B move just waiting to be found. The characters were off beat, nerdy, jockey, pretty, sneaky, deadly, wickedly fun. The main character is an ultra nerdy fake who desperately wants to impress the girl, with his fake job. The fun part is that it's not fake, it's all real and nerd boy has to fake it till he makes it basically. The unbelievable tries to kill him and it gets real, fast.
If you love dark twisted comedy, where some may die or get eaten, with bumbling heroes, who take unconventional paths, this is a book for you. if not wait for the movie it will be a killer.

Review of Creature by Hunter Shea
Creature (Fiction Without Frontiers) - Hunter Shea

Hunter Shea has been a favorite of mine for a while now, so typically my liking the current book from him is not surprising. Several people warned me that this one was not like his other books and I still can't tell you how much I wasn't expecting this. Shea, who to me, has been known for his quick and fun reads hit it into an entirely different ballpark with Creature. This book was neither quick nor easy for me to read but it was amazingly worth it.

I think it's easy for people who don't live with chronic pain to look at this and decide that it's too monopolizing to the story or that maybe it's even over exaggerated. People who live with chronic pain and autoimmune diseases don't have that luxury, it's with them every moment of the day, and for me that was the hardest part to get through. I don't have either of those things and this book made me realize just how much I take that for granted.

It's hard to sum up a book that absolutely guts you. If you're looking for mindless gore, this isn't your book. However, if you want something that takes what you thought you knew about horror and flips it upside down- amplifies it, this one is for you.

I received an ARC of this from Flame Tree Press and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
