Fun At The Office
Happy-Go-Lucky - L H Cosway

This sweet romantic comedy with a twist of a mystery too was one of those books I could not put down.  LH Cosway alway writes fantastic characters who clash and enhance each other. The battle for a relationship between these two was unexpected and so fun to watch develop. Grant was gruff, elusive, combative, a loner, and her superior. Maisy was the "happy go lucky girl" always chipper, giving, open and forgiving. But we all know those first looks are only the surface. When they are brought together one drunken office Christmas party night, the outer shell starts to crack and the fun begins.

Maisy works hard, tries hard to make everyone smile, and she's treated like a doormat by a few of her colleagues. She is a researcher for a PI firm, and does an excellent job. She's offered a promotion and a chance to train under Grant (waggle eyebrows) she takes it and together they undercover many mysteries layered while getting to know each other.

This was such a fun read, romance, strife, mystery and comedy, all under these covers. Omg this would be the best movie !

I received a copy of the book from the author for a honest review

Urban Fantasy With Norse Gods YES !
Arctic Dawn - Karissa Laurel

Book Two in the Norse Chronicles series

Spoiler free review

I loved book one, it was the perfect mix of fantasy, action, suspense, with a tease of romance and great writing. Book two, took all that was generated in the first book and intensified it. I did not want it to stop, I dreaded the ending which came too soon. My mind carried the story into my dreams, working out some of the problems for the characters.

The story is written with such beautiful imagery, it's poetic at times. The words twisted to squeeze every emotion out of the scenes. I found myself re-reading lines just to hear them again.

Solina, she is a woman I can admire. She is faced with two or more hot hunky male gods and she doesn't jump on them ripping their clothes off. How she can hold back is a wonder to me. This is a character that thinks things through. It irritated the crunch off my toast a few times but I enjoyed the story more without the typical romantic tangle in the middle of a life or death brawl. This girl takes her saving the world job seriously. She'll think about the body slamming mojo after the job is done. Thank the gods for a thinking female main character.

There is so much happening in this book, when it rains it pours even for Norse gods.

Thorin, son of Thor, ancient and yet young in this human world develops into a more relatable god man. His history, his beliefs and his choices. He is a god, powerful, ancient, and sometimes an idiot. Solina, after a long time away must come out of hiding to search for her friend Skyla and track down a very dangerous weapon. her powers are still in the learning phase but she tries and never gives up. Skyla, the tough as nails Marine finds herself at a well of information, Val does a lot of disappearing, and touching. Helen, well her wicked ways continue.  There are emotional distractions on top of the world saving must do know actions that churn and drive this reader and the characters nuts. We all needed a spa day after that ending.

Let's talk about the ending. Naughty Ms. Laurel, you tease ! Yes, there was a terrific cliffhanger. Now I must hang and swing over the sharp edge till book three is released. That was brutal of you and I thank you for it.

I was lucky enough to be given an advanced reading copy for my reading pleasure and review.

Finding the Truth through Art
Drawn - Marie Lamba

4.4 stars
I went into this book totally blind. It had been on my kindle for years, unread. I went overboard with downloading freebies for a while. Don't judge. I've been randomly picking a book by tittle alone and reading them most have been meh reads, this one wasn't.
What an amazing time travel, mystery, suspense, love story. This book took me, shook me, and kept me up all night. I was always in the edge of my seat, nibbling on my cuticles, heart thumping, breath rapid, the answer was there just another page, stage. Who was the real villain ? What changes had she caused to the future ? Can they find a way to be together ? The best part is it's not all HEA there are some tissue box moments.. No worries, the end is so good. I never saw it coming. I love this author's writing, she paced everything just right for this reader. There was just enough, of everything to entrance me in her world. Will read this author again asap.
One slightly negative point had me going ??? She wasn't a major character I just don't like undone dangling bits. Where is the mother, and what was her story ? I feel like that chapter was dropped. There was a lot of story about her leaving but never an answer. Did I miss something ?

Had Good Elements But Missed My Mark
THE IMMORTAL'S REDEMPTION - Kelli Ireland

Beginning it Scotland 1718 Dylan is a young impatient assassin being forced to wait for his services to be needed. Danu the Mother of all, appeared to him and showed him a vision of something he instantly wanted it was also like nothing he’d seen before. A great and wondrous challenge would be in his future. It centered around a beautiful woman he must first find in time, then he must face his truth to prevent world wide chaos if he fails. Not much pressure right ? Fast forward 300 years to our time and our sexy immortal assassin is finally called to action when the vision’s time has finally come and oh dear, she is a carrier of something very wicked. Danu, shows up again and reveals that he must find the truth or he must sacrifice to save the world. No easy choices here. On top of all that this woman gives him feelings, feelings suffocate and confuse the mind, and he doesn’t have time for that.
Kennedy Jefferson woke up confused, in a hospital, muddled memories and lost time haunt her. Her family has a history of mental unstableness and she fears she is heading to the looney bin herself. She is acting abnormal, losing time and clings to her BFF Ethan, for comfort. While leaving the hospital she comes face to face with the most striking man with burning green eyes. Yes, it’s hubba hubba time. He is here for her, but why and what for ?
Ethan, her BFF is not the simpleton Dylan thinks he is. He has his own brand of secret mojo powers and knows Dylan as a top assassin. His mojo is nothing compared the the Druid Powers but I think there is a lot more hidden. His part is small but I have to say he is the BFF every girl wants in her corner.
Gareth, is a sexy Irishman, second in command to Dylan. He is tan, muscled, honey colored hair with light blue eyes surrounded by laugh lines. He dresses in faded jeans and cream colored sweaters. Oh thud goes my heart, it’s the look that this reader LOVES. He also serves up a wicked Irish coffee that will kick you into orbit if you don’t watch out. He’s a young sexy flirt who just happens to be a deadly Druid assassin.
There are other side characters that fit in well with the story. Dylan’s father who reminded me of Darth Vader to Luke Skywalker. Rowan the dark stoic strong type of man who watched and remained steady through all the drama. I have high hopes for this guy. He is a smoking hot man waiting to jump on his own story. I like a difficult introvert character.
There was a lot going on in this story. I would have loved to see more of the secondary characters, they intrigued me more than the main characters. The story, myths and possible future events were fascinating. Unfortunately Kennedy, the main female character was not someone I’d like to visit again. She was the only piece of the story I didn’t care for. Sadly she was a major player and irked me to the end. I was confused when she gained important knowledge that she hadn’t had a few pages earlier. I’m guessing it was from her moments of blanks that she suffered, but it was never mentioned and felt very choppy. She was unbelievable to me and lacked that something that made the other characters stories complete and easy to identify with. She was uninteresting for the same reason. I have read this authors work before an have loved it, this one just wasn’t for me. I hope you’ll give it a try and judge for yourself. Let me know your impressions I love to discuss different opinions.
