Who Wants to Die: Part 2!

I need character names for the Scare Rows sequels I'm working on. If you would like to be murdered or simply included in LADIES OF THE GOURD or CHURCH O' THE LANTERN, please submit your name in the comment section below.

If you would, state in your comment whether or not you would like your character to be killed, maimed, or play an inconsequential supporting/background role. The character will share your name only, and will not be based on the real life you.

Note: I will not be responsible for corn cobs being inserted in various orifices resulting in pregnancies involving squash and/or other vegetation. Thank you for your cooperation.

You can expect both novelettes sometime next year. :)

What Really Grinds My Gears 3

In today's installment of What Really Grinds My Gears I'll be talking about one of the worst, most disgusting organizations in American history. No I'm not talking about the KKK, nor am I talking about the Confederacy, as much as I hate both.

No, I'm talking about an evil that plagues our country 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, that's filled with disgusting biased bigots and hypocrites, with nothing but hate on their minds.

They are the most despicable news organization in America, bringing lies to the public, and brainwashing a lot of them. And they don't really even present the news, they just argue constantly, something I assume their viewers just love.

Oh, and remember their slogan, fair and balanced?

Ugh, I'm just going to end this post here. If I don't I may be sick.

This is my opinion, if you don't agree with it that's fine.

Ummmmm... not exactly what I expected
The Apocalypse (The Undead World) - Peter Meredith

Okay, I read the sample awhile back and I enjoyed it so much that I purchased it.  This is one of those ones that I regret purchasing.  I am 55% of the way through and this is just horrible.

The formatting is great, as is the punctuation, grammar, etc.  I am horrified by calls by folks for authors to tailor characters to be politically correct, but my gods... this is a misogynistic nightmare.  No female characters (to the 55% point) are anything other than women who have understood that their worth is only measured by their looks and anatomy and what they can 'provide' men in the sexual sense once the zombie apocalypse happens.

The military isn't portrayed any better.  According to this author, once the zombie apocalypse happens, the core values of duty, honor, loyalty, selfless service, and personal courage simply disappear and the folks in uniform (mysteriously devoid of females) turn into little despots, running about and taking civilian's food, weapons, and women.

Give me a break.  This is disgusting.  I am sorry that I purchased this.  I don't know if I am going to finish or not I am done, finished, DNF'd.  As it stands, it gets ZERO stars.

Zom-B #6 - Darren Shan

While better, this book was also far more disturbing. We got a few new characters, and we meet older characters.

One of them is named Dan-Dan.

Dan-Dan is a sick, sick twisted person who kills and torments children just for fun. And I don't even want to know what his plans with B. were.
Really seriously wth. I do pray we don't see him again in the next books. *shivers*

(spoiler show)

I really despised everyone on that boat. Instead of helping people, they are doing all the stuff they did there. Really sick.

We also find out why the title is Gladiator (was already wondering about it).

Poor B., the things she witnesses, I can imagine B acts so gruffy and mean at times. Anyone would do that after all they went through in the last few books and this one.

I really did like the ending for this book, I like how B keeps growing and learning new things.

I will be sure to read the next book as well
