Dragon's Lair by Chantal Fernando
Dragon's Lair (Wind Dragons Motorcycle Club) - Chantal Fernando
LOVE!
Dex is hot. I am certain I have a book crush on him. He is strong, sexy, and knows how to treat a woman, which you would think odd given his lifestyle. Goes to show you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover.
Speaking of which, I shared the book in a teaser post and many balked at the cover. Like a hot guys' chest is something to snub, but still the book cover don't always make the story. The story was intense, sexy and a great read! So great, I can't wait to get a copy of Arrow's Hell.
Romance fans, you will enjoy this one. It's not erotica, just romance with a biker twist.

Dragon's Lair
Dragon's Lair (Wind Dragons Motorcycle Club) - Chantal Fernando

I bought this book when I found out that I had been approved for the third book in the series on Netgalley. I really didn't want to go into the third book feeling lost so I bought the first two in the series. The thing that I most enjoyed about this book were the characters. While the characters may have been a bright spot of this book I was a bit thrown off by how the plot seemed to meander around for the last third of the book.

I absolutely loved both Dex and Faye. Dex could be a bit overwhelming at times with how uber alpha he was but I loved just how much he really cared for Faye. I liked that while Faye really relied on Dex she was also pretty strong. The chemistry between them was magical at times. I really didn't like that Dex hide a pretty major thing from Faye but I understand why he did it.

The secondary characters really stood out in this book too. I really loved whenever any of the other guys from the MC were around. I just loved how while Rake, Tracker, Arrow, and the other guys joked around and teased Faye, they also really accepted her as one of their own.

I really enjoyed the plot and felt like it was moving along well until the last third of the book. I swear the last third just felt like we were wandering around like crazy. What I mean by that is we were constantly alternating between every thing being okay and all the characters being okay but then out of nowhere there'd be some major conflict. Just when you think there can't possibly be more drama for these characters something else managed to throw their lives into chaos. It felt a bit like whiplash at times.

I am looking forward to reading more of this series. After every thing that had happened in this book I am really eager to read about Arrow next.

5* Book Review of Dragon's Lair by Chantal Fernando
Dragon's Lair (Wind Dragons Motorcycle Club) - Chantal Fernando
Summary:The first in a new sexy romance series from bestselling author Chantal Fernando about the bad boys of the Wind Dragons Motorcycle Club and the women who fall in love with them.

When I found my boyfriend cheating on me, I did something stupid.

Or should I say, someone?

Because of that mistake, I’m now stuck in a world I don’t belong in.

I’m a law student. They’re criminals. He’s the vice president of a motorcycle club. I’m a good girl with a strict upbringing. He’s my ex-boyfriend’s brother.

And I’m screwed.

dragons lairTitle: Dragon's Lair

Released: 21st April 2015
Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance

I am stuck on MC books at the moment and I absolutely loved this book. Dragon’s Lair was totally addictive and sizzling hot. The brothers are all fantastic and have quirks of their own, their openness about their sexuality was hilarious and I loved Faye’s reaction to them. Chantal Fernando is a new Australian author to me and I’ve definitely added her to my favourites list; her writing style is incredible.

Faye Connor is twenty three and about to have her life changed forever. Faye grew up as the good girl, doing everything she could to please her mother. Next door was the older bad boy and his brother, and Faye quickly became friends and more. Dexter Black always looked out for Faye growing up, then he disappeared and she became attached to his brother, Eric.

Together Eric and Faye had plans, they’re both studying law and have been together since 9th Grade. The typical good girl, Faye doesn’t drink, smoke and never touched drugs. The problem is, Eric obviously thinks she’s too good and the betrayal she receives isn’t deserved by her or anybody else, for that matter. It’s over!

Faye’s had enough of being good and goes out to a bar, she’s cried for two days straight and realises her life is still ahead of her. Being alone at the bar, it isn’t long before she’s approached. At the end of the night, she heads to her car; she spots a guy she recognises standing next to a beautiful Harley, but it’s the eyes that she knows for sure. She hasn’t seen those eyes for five years.

Dex also recognises Faye and he likes what he sees, Faye has always had a crush on him since she was little. Now though, they both want each other so badly, and now she’s single there’s nothing holding her back.

They spend the night awakening passion Faye didn’t know even existed. But when she gets home, it’s to find Eric inside talking to her Mother. He tries over the next week to get Faye back, but she’s not backing down.

Faye is kicked out of her parent’s house a couple of months later. With nowhere to go, she packs her bags, takes her money and leaves town. She’d always had a plan, but now she has other priorities. Staying at dingy motels, she’s surprised by a knock on her door. DEX! He’s found her and now Faye has no choice but to enter his world at the Wind Dragon’s Motorcycle Club.

Why does Dex want her now? Can she accept life inside the Wind Dragon’s world? Will she be accepted by them? Will Dex ask Faye to be his “old lady”? Can Faye overcome her hang-ups and misconceptions about life in a MC?

This may sound a little vague, but I don’t want to give anything away. Wind Dragon’s Motorcycle Club series is a definite read for all romance readers. Dragon’s Lair is a perfect insight into club life and start of the series. All the brothers are complex and loyal to a fault, but clearly misunderstood. This one had something for everybody, intrigue, unpredictable, sizzling hot scenes and of course sizzling hot bikers. I cannot wait for Arrow’s and Tracker’s stories next.

"Dexter Black doesn't know it yet, but one day he's going to be mine." This was said by Faye when she was only ten years old, even then she knew they belonged together.
"I'm the good girl. I've never cheated, never even held hands with another man. I'm not perfect by any means, but I know, I KNOW, I don't deserve this shit."

PJV Quickie: When Dragon's Lair showed up in my mailbox, I wasn't sure what to expect - another MC Romance? Ok, I'll bite... As it turns out, I really liked Dragon's Lair. There were a couple of nitpicky things but the story was so good, I didn't really care. As soon as I closed the book, I wanted to start reading book 2, Arrow's Hell.

Review:

Faye grew up with parents who didn't show much affection and were always worried about appearances. As a child, she found solace with two brothers who lived next door, Dex and Eric.  Dex was older and looked out for her, and she had a bad case of hero-worship.  When they were older, Fay and Eric started dating, and things got serious: they had big plans to open a law firm together when they graduated from law school and get married. That dream died when Faye walked in on Eric having sex with another woman.

Dex is a biker with the notorious biker gang, the Wind Dragons. They're not a "Weekend Warrior"-type biker gang; they are involved in illegal activities, including murder, and they have many enemies in other biker gangs. When Dex finds out Faye has been kicked out of her house and is leaving town with something that is his, he goes after her and brings her back to the Wind Dragon's compound.

A rebound one-night stand has turned into something more between Faye and Dex, and as they learn to deal with their situation and each other, genuine affection blooms. But life in the MC compound is sometimes dangerous, and Faye has questions Dex can't or won't answer, and she finds herself becoming more and more involved - with the man and the club.

~~~~~
As I mentioned in my PJV Quickie, this was not a title I had requested, but I'm so glad Gallery sent it! I really enjoyed the characters - especially Faye. Faye was curious and stubborn and self-reliant. She asked a lot of questions she shouldn't have, and her curiosity has the potential to get her into a lot of trouble.  She let the small stuff slide (small is relative when you're dealing with an outlaw MC, lol) but didn't back down if it was important to her, and I liked that.
Dex was a tough biker who goes by the name of "Sin" and is sex-on-a-stick (or bike, as the case may be).  I liked that he was bad-ass but cared for Faye and wanted to take care of her. That scary-but-sweet gets me every time ;) I wish we could have had more of his background and his journey to the MC.  Speaking of the MC, I loved these guys! They were so good to Faye and some of their scenes were so funny.
With this cast of interesting characters, Dragon's Lair kept me entertained and the story moved quickly. There were a few spots where I thought "really?" and without giving away spoilers, there was a specific scene near the beginning of the book where I think if he would have said something instead of looking angry, things would have been different for this couple. BUT, and that's a big "but", I was so into the story that I just let it go. I absolutely cannot wait to get my hands on the next book, Arrow's Hell.  I am already intrigued by the hero and heroine.
Recommendations:
If you like MC Romance, I'd definitely recommend Dragon's Lair.  Fans of Joanna Wylde or Kristen Ashley should enjoy Dragon's Lair; it's a little different but I think you'll like it. As I type this, the kindle version of Dragon's Lair is only $3.99 - totally worth it.
Dragon's Lair (Wind Dragons Motorcycle Club) - Chantal Fernando
**I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review**
Faye's life is going to crap. She's working on her law degree when she finds out her boyfriend is cheating on her. She decides to go out and have fun to feel better. While out, she runs into Dex, her ex's older brother and the hero of her childhood and youthful crush. Shortly after they hook up, she finds out she's pregnant and get's kicked out of her home. When Dex finds out, he takes her back to his place, a room at his MC Club where's he's Vice President. Will they be able to find common ground so they can raise their baby?
I really liked Faye. She's feisty independent and her curiosity is hilarious. Even though she relies on Dex to a point, she resists as much as possible. Dex is sweet in his own way. When he's with her, it's evident that he's crazy about her while still maintaining his toughness. They were both very likable characters.
Overall very good book. It was a quick read. I'm always kind of iffy with reading MC books as they can get gritty in a way I don't really want to read about, but this one skated around that in a good way. I can't wait to read the next one.
