Dragon Love
Fury of Obsession (Dragonfury Series Book 5) - Coreene Callahan

I listened to the audiobook of this and I was underwhelmed. At first I was excited since it's interracial. The heroine is a beautiful, dark-skinned African American woman and the hero is a dragon shifter (Caucasian in human form) from Eastern Europe. I still dug that about the story even though I was overall disappointed. I think that the major issue is that it was too derivative for me. I love the Black Dagger Brotherhood, and I like that it's had an impact on paranormal romance, but I would like to see an author inspired by these books to take to some diversions in storytelling that make their story more unique. While the author chose to inhabit her story with dragons of all kind, which was very cool, I felt like the style of storytelling, the number of subplots, and the set up of the group that Venom fights with is way too similar to the Brotherhood. There are characters that you can identify as certain BDB characters. Also, I feel that there is a lot of similarity to the Midnight Breed series by Lara Adrian. Another issue I have with the story is the dropped plotlines. At the beginning of the book Evelyn is in trouble with some Russian gangsters. It's like that all goes away. I was really confused about that. And some of the point of views I could deal without. I don't mind if we see the villain's POV somewhat, but not if they're not that interesting. I would rather have a scene where Venom kicks the crap out of the Russian gangster. The plot resolution suffered and failed to impress me. It was very anticlimactic. When the book ended, I was like, that's it? Yeah, I was pretty disappointed with this. I'm interested in the one character who reminds me of John Matthew before his transition, I think his name in Osgood. I'd definitely read his book. Overall thoughts: The dragon aspect, good. Romance: pretty good. Sort of an instaluv vibe, but I can live with that. Characters: Mostly forgettable. Plotting: poor. Too many storylines. Narration: I give the narrator some points for enthusiasm and style, but his Scottish accent was ferociously bad. Some of his European accents sounded like a campy version of Vlad Tepes aka Dracula. But I liked him despite that. He was having fun and that made me have fun. Overall rating: 2.5/5.0 stars.

An action packed paranormal boxset
Fated to be Mated (Paranormal Shifter Romance Multi-Author Boxed set - 6) - Kenzie Cox,Elsa Jade,SM Reine,Moira Rogers,Emma Storm,V Vaughn

I was gifted an ARC of the "Fated to be Mated" boxset, from V. Vaughn, in exchange for an honest reveiw.

I have previously read 4 of the stories within, so my reviews are added for those, now to jump into the couple of new authors/stories.... eeeeeekkkkk.

Jace (Wolves of the Rising Sun, book 1) by Kenxie Cox....
I have just finished reading Jace's story, I was quickly drawn into the story & was surprised when I'd already finished it.
Skye finds comfort in the Bayou, especially around Jace, having just broken up with her boyfriend she wants to take pictures & relax. But when a storm breaks & Skye finds herself in a cabin with him....
I loved how things progressed between Jace & Skye, it made for an enjoyable short read.... why do these stories have to be so short??

Brindle (Winter Valley Wolves, book 1) by V. Vaughn....
I have just come up for air after reading Brindle's story, so much information going through my head, for such a short read.
Katie is in heat, after running away from her mate Brindle, not long after she was changed, having to get used to being a wolf & then all her confusion. Nothing can satiate Katie when she's in heat, but Brindle makes a surprise visit, knowing his mate is in pain, but also not knowing if he'll be rejected again.....
I really felt for Katie & Brindle's situation, obviously she needs time to come to terms at being a werewolf, but Brindle is nothing but patient... well until near the end.

Wilder's Mate (Bloodhounds, book 1) by Moira Rogers....
I'd NEVER read a book by Moira Rogers before, but something about this books blurb had me intrigued. A chapter in & I wanted to read more, half way through... well I was HOOKED!! I couldn't put it down & quickly found myself at the end. Everything flowed through the storyline, a kidnapping, a heroine on a mission, her bodyguard, shifters, vamps, a trip across country.... EVERYTHING I want in a book. Then add the slight steampunk genre, I was enthralled.

Hero (Wolves of Angels Rest, book 1) by Elsa Jade....
I loved this book, I was quickly thrust into the story & it was over before I knew what happened. Man I love that in a book, even in a quick read like 'Hero'.
Kane is coming home from the war afer escaping small town life. Maddison felt a pull to returning to where it all began. A chance meeting on Kane's first night home & so many secrets to keep from Maddie, keeping her safe from himself & others.... but when the Mating Moon rises the war between want & need stop....

Caged Wolf (The Tarot Witches, book 1) by SM Reine....
When a book combines some of your favourite things, shifters, vamps, witches, tarot cards, as well as bikers, add in a sassy leading lady you know your in for a ride. 'Caged Wolf' was that ride! Book 1 in S.M. Reine's "The Tarot Witches" series, it had me wanting to keep reading...
Ofelia has had a traumatic past, please be patient when finding out just how she receives her scars, it takes a while for her to open up, but once she does??? You may wish she didn't tell. The minute Trouble & his brothers walk into her bar in Lobo Norte, she's instantly drawn & doesn't know why.
It did take a little to piece together all the snippets of information I received whilst reading, but when you put it all together... WOW.... I need to read the next book in this series.

Temptation (Grey Wolves Rising, book 1) by Emma Storm....
I finished reading Temptation, Gabriel's story... this man had it easy, I'm not completely sure why he waitied so long??
Gabriel has known his true mate for 6 years, but she was too young & he wanted her to be the best that she could be. That meant Joy went away to college, away from Gabriel & her family...
I could understand Gabriel's hesitation for not taking Joy as his mate 6 years prior, but I really felt for Joy... Gabriel not accepting the connection between them & making Joy feel like there was nothing there between them...
