Just more of the same...
Fit to be Tied - Tristan James Mabry,Mary Calmes

'Fit to Be Tied' in the second book in Mary Calmes 'Marshals' series and like the first book it was a 5 star read for me and once again it was a case of a 5 star story add one of my favorite narrators and it stays a 5 star audio book.

I loved it and whether you like audio or e-book 'Marshal's is at the top of my list of Mary Calmes series that I would recommend. So for more detail you can check out more reviews...you might even find one by me and definitely go to audible.com and listen to the sample, I highly recommend doing that for any audiobook and if you like what you hear, enjoy. Once again I'm done here.

On the Plus Side by Alison Bliss
On the Plus Side (A Perfect Fit) - Alison Bliss

This review can also be found at Carole's Random Life in Books.

This was an okay read for me. I didn't like this book as much as I did the first book in the series, Size Matters. I hate to say it but there it is. There were parts that I liked a lot and other parts that made me want to pull my hair out. I did find this book to be a fairly quick read and I did want to see Valerie and Logan get their happily ever after.

Logan is back in town for the first time in a lot of years. He has just opened a new bar and needs it to be successful pretty quickly so that he can help his mom out. Valerie has always had a crush on her older brother's best friend and isn't sure what to do now that he is back in town. When Logan finds himself in need of a comptent bartender, Valerie decides that she is the right person for the job.

Let's get to some of the stuff that bothered me about this book. Valerie's brother is over the top. I hated him and can't understand why Valerie has allowed him to have so much say in her life. I liked Valerie a whole lot less just because she doesn't stand up to her brother. I think that this book would have been so much better if his character just wasn't around. Not only did Valerie not stand up to her brother, she didn't always make Logan listen to her. She is supposed to be this really confident character but she doesn't speak up when it really matters. I just didn't get it.

I liked Logan and Valerie as a couple and thought they had a lot of chemistry. I really did want to see them figure out how to make things work with each other. The sexier moments in this book were very well done and sometimes even laced with a bit of humor at times. I thought that their feelings for each other felt really genuine.

This book can easily be read as a stand alone story even though it is the second book in the series. I did enjoy seeing the characters from the first book in this story but this story would work well on its own. I plan to read more from Alison Bliss in the future.

I received an advance reader edition of this book from Forever (Grand Central Publishing) via NetGalley.

Initial Thoughts
I really liked some things about this book but other parts drove me crazy. It was really just an ok read for me in the end.

Didn't Like The Characters
On the Plus Side (A Perfect Fit) - Alison Bliss

Curvy Valerie Charmichael has always been able to attract male attention, except for Logan Mathis, her brother’s best friend. When he moves back to town, Valerie does everything she can to make sure she gets his attention this time, one way or another.

Unfortunately, I just didn’t like this book. The plot sounded like it would be a quick and hot read, but the more I read, the more I didn’t like it. The biggest problem was that I didn’t like the characters right from the beginning. I didn’t like the interaction between them starting when they saw each other again.

**I voluntarily read and reviewed this book

Not fine wine
Fit For A King (Mira) - Diana Palmer

Before reading this I had no idea a whole book could be about a "sheltered, naive, innocent" woman holding on to her virginity into mid-twenties because the proper thing to do is get married first but suddenly lose control of her body around the almost forty tall, dark, and handsome oil man after being "friends" with him for two years.

The bonus part of this story? The storyline to get these two wacky kids together is that our "hero" wants Virgin (referring not to disparage but it was quite honestly the only identity the author gave this character ) to pretend to be his girlfriend to not only help dissuade his sister-in-law from hitting on him but to help HIM keep away from SIL, too.

Y'all, he wants to bang his SIL.

The whole book is "hero" and Virgin getting hot and bothered but breaking apart because they're not married. I know, I know, there are modern people with same sentiment. God love you! I, however, am not into reading 250ish pages of people giving themselves blue balls because of a guy in the sky.

"Hero" also smokes.

Waiting
On the Plus Side (A Perfect Fit) - Alison Bliss

This is book #2, in A Perfect Fit series.  This book can be read as a standalone novel.  To avoid spoilers, and have a greater understanding of the series, I recommend reading this in order.

Valerie has been in love with her brother's best friend for as long as she can remember.  He has never even looked at her with longing.  She is still waiting for the day he wakes up, if ever.

Logan has noticed the very hot Valerie.  She has no idea what he has done to stay away.  When she finds out, she may be very angry.  He just cannot resist her.  The eyes, that body, everything.

I think this series has me bedazzled!  I love the characters, and how hot the sexy stuff sizzles.  The banter is right on, and the heat is just turning up.  I cannot wait for the next book!  I give this story a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!
