Sweet and easy.. Ray is a great guy, Liam a wonderful partner, they're living a great happy life. The PTSD-aspect of the story isn't very heavy. You feel for Liam a lot, but it also isn't very heavy on the angst - because Ray is there, they love each other and they make it all better for each other.
Which is fine. I enjoyed it. It was a great short story, even in the technical sense of the word. Maybe that was part of the problem for me? I'd have loved to read at least a little more about their meeting, about the backround and their life in general. And I'd have liked to read a little more conflict? Or Some kind of suspense/action/problem/anything?
As it is, this read is sweet and lovely and happy and hopeful. Ah, let's face it: It's a FLUFF-FEST. And while I'm not against fluff, cheesy and happy unicorns, I would have loved a little... MORE. But maybe that's me and my current mood. If you're looking for something comforting, sugar-y and smile-inducing, you should definitely pick this up. If you're looking for antagonism, tension, angst or any kind of big conflict, move right along. This isn't for you.
This is the second book I've read from her and I did not like it as much as the other. I felt no connection with the characters I didn't understand their weird relationship or care for how they played the relationship game. It took forever, to finally get together. There was so much unsaid game playing it drove me crazy. It took 97% of the book to finally get.....
Just not the book for the reader
