Early Review! Covert Game (GhostWalker #14) Christine Feehan!
Covert Game (A GhostWalker Novel) - Christine Feehan

The GhostWalkers deal with the explosive fallout from Power Game in the lastest suspenseful novel by #1 New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan.

Treason, torture and temptation haunt the GhostWalkers in their most dangerous adventure yet, as Christine Feehan's #1 New York Times bestselling series hits an explosive new high.

Rescuing an industrial spy from the hands of a criminal mastermind is a suicide mission for the GhostWalkers. And there's no one more up to the task than Gino Mazza. He's the perfect killing machine—a man driven by demons so dark and destructive that his blighted soul has given up trying to find solace. But his laser-sharp focus on his target has transformed into something nearing desire.

A treasonous senator dangled top secret GhostWalker data in front of a Chinese crime lord, and he bit. Zara Hightower, one of the world's leading experts on artificial intelligence, was sent in to psychically wipe the crime lord's computer network. She succeeded, but at a huge cost. Now she's the captive of a man who has descended into paranoid madness. Torture and death await her...

But GhostWalkers never leave one of their own in enemy territory. And it's up to Gino to save Zara, or kill her if it turns out she's led them into a trap. Either way, heaven or hell won't stop him...

The GhostWalkers are back in another exhilarating book, one where I was completely thrilled to read. There was lots of action and adventure that got my blood pumping and intriguing suspense that had me biting my nails and the chemistry is off the charts electrifying.

Gino and Zara are strong, exciting characters that stir emotions and captivate readers with their story. The romance is sweet but oh so hot with Gino’s alpha protective personality and Zara’s tough but sweet vulnerable personality, so they are a bit opposite but it works fantastic for them as it sure generates some raging hot heat and keeps readers enthralled with the relationship as it grows.

Hair raising suspense builds from the very beginning as Zara finds herself in hot water and keeps right on building throughout the story which keeps readers on the edge with lots of thrills.  Whitney is back of course with his usual tricks and total disregard for human life but the GhostWalkers have a new set of enemies that were introduced in Power Game and let me tell you I would to blow this bad guy to smithereens. There is lots of danger with explosive action throughout the book and also a disturbing torture scene involving Zara that adds to the emotional impact of this fast paced plot.

Christine Feehan is one my favorite authors and the GhostWalkers world is of my top favorites. It is paranormal but it is also a tough action series that really gets the adrenaline pumping and makes hearts pound with some uber hot and sexy heroes and heroines. Covert Game is definitely that and more and there was no way I could put it down until I had read every last exhilarating page, of course, my family was not very happy about this and kept trying to interrupt but Gino and Zara held my complete attention.

Power Game (GhostWalker Novel, A) - Christine Feehan

The next installment of the Ghost Walkers was really good. After Spider Game, I did get a little worried about the series but this one puts my faith back into it being one of my favorite series. Bellisia and Ezekiel are great together, their chemistry was strong but didn't over power the reader. The conflicts were awesome, without spoiling anything some series stuff happens in this one that I think helped refresh the series. The plot line of the great protector, Ezekiel, who has spent his whole life protecting his brothers, finally has something for himself in Bellisia and she is definitely a strong partner for him.  She can fight along side him and stand up to his bossiness when she doesn't agree with something he says.  Their chemistry was sweet and passionate, but not over the top. Violet is the villain in this one and she is one nasty piece of work and poor Joe wants to save her so badly, it is sad to watch.  Anyway, it was a great read and a strong addition to the series.

The Delicious Taste of Poison
Viper Game (Ghostwalker Novel Book 11) - Christine Feehan

I have said it before and I will say it again. I love these GhostWalkers books! It was lovely to get a new book. I'm glad I finally got to read it, even if it's a year late! I am happy to say that I really loved this book. Now let's talk about this book!

Wyatt:
My dear Wyatt, you are a hot, delicious mess. When he is in his brother Gator's book, you think of him as a jocular, easy-going little brother. Well, things have changed. He's very intense and somewhat tortured. And freaking jealous as a house on fire. I will freely admit I love jealous/possessive heroes. I felt he did toe the line in how he was treating Pepper when she was around his friends. Yes, there are some considerations with it all. Pepper has an allure that is highly potent, and Wyatt spends most of this book learning to deal with it. At least he realizes it's a problem and tries. He's very bossy. Oh yes, I think he also knows this about himself and he's called by his boys and Pepper about it. What I love about Wyatt is his love and protective nature over his family and friends. When Pepper and the baby come, he's all in. No question. He's a formidable warrior but also an incredible thinker. I love brilliant men. What a great combination. And he's definitely all that in the bedroom. What's not to love? But seriously, I don't know that I could live with a man like Wyatt as my husband, but he sure is right for Pepper and a very appealing hero. I like that he is willing to change the areas that he needs improvement in.

Pepper

Wow, she's gorgeous, inside and out. I felt so bad for her situation. I hate that she was experimented on that way and has such a profound enhancement. At first I didn't really get it. It took me a while to figure out what was going on with her enhancement. When I did, I was pretty thrown. That would suck. I've have read books with a similar issue in a heroine (but it's usually paranormal). How to deal with that. Wyatt's solution was certainly practical and it made for some hot bedroom (and other places) moments for sure. Even though she hated that she had to do it, she uses her unique ability to devastating effect in the climax, and I thought that was a very cinematic moment. I definitely wouldn't want to be irresistible and gorgeous like her (For real, I mean it). How difficult did that make her life? It was Wyatt's fault that he was so jealous, but it sucked that she couldn't do a lot about it. He had to understand that she was who she was, and he clearly loved her, so it comes with the package. I loved Pepper. Thought she was an awesome character. Ms. Feehan is really upping the ante with the GhostWalker storyline. Pepper's enhancement and backstory ties in very well but takes things to another level.

The Triplets:

Oh my gosh. So adorable. This book made my baby fever even worse. I loved the scenes where they bond with the adults and Pepper and Wyatt. I love seeing the GhostWalker nursery get bigger. Keep it coming, Ms. Feehan!

The Team:

The new guys that get introduced in this book are officially my boys. Loved them all. Even though Trap is a grumpy, socially awkward hot mess, he's my hot mess. Excited to read his book. Ezekiel is probably my new favorite GW. I can't wait until his book! I always love the relationship between the GWs. How they have each other's backs and rib each other because they know each other so well. How their loyalty is ride or die and when their men find their women, they will fight to the death to protect them and their children. I couldn't ask for more.

Nonny:

She's awesome. I loved her snark and how she welcomes all the GWs into her home, and the babies. Can she be my honorary Cajun grandmother?

The Setting:

I hate hot weather, and I still kinda of wished I was in the Bayou with them. That's because it was so well-described I felt like it was real to me. How Wyatt was a product of the swamps and it was integral to his nature. It was a sort of symbiosis for him.

Cayenne:

She's my girl. I love bad-a** chicks and she's definitely that. Her skill set, ah yess! Can't wait to read Spider Game. Trap and her already have melting hot chemistry. Trap is a bit of a butthead, but I hope Cayenne stays strong and handles her man and keeps him in line.

Story Advancements:

As I said above, I think this story really does escalate the ongoing GhostWalker narrative. The introduction of the French GW girls is brilliant, and I'm excited to see more of them. The new physical enhancements of the bad guys was freaky and made for some fantastic action scenes. One of the things I love about this series is the action is hard and fast and incredible. These books satisfy my love Jones and my action Jones, and that's just what I want in a good action romance/romantic suspense.

This series continues to be one of my top favorite romance series, and I'm glad that Feehan has sustained the writing quality. She's going very hot with the love scenes, but not going into places I won't follow, so I'm thankful for that. I can deal with the hero being a bit more dominant in the bedroom than I like, and actually Wyatt was pretty hot.

I'm a happy camper. A well-deserved five stars!

Shifter Romance in the Bayou? Hot. As. Sin.
Viper Game (Ghostwalker Novel Book 11) - Christine Feehan

‘The moment his mouth touched hers, she went up in flames. There was no holding back no matter how hard she tried. She’d waited her entire lifetime for him.’

Viper Game was an action-packed novel which had an exciting blend of paranormal beings with interesting abilities, lots of alpha male attitude, family loyalty, and passionate romance.

Admittedly, I am new to Christine Feehan’s GhostWalker series, so I had a lot to learn about these amazing people. I thought the world created for these books was nicely complex, especially the plot itself, but it was also easy for readers to understand. That being said, I think you could read each installment as a standalone, although it would be more cohesive reading them in order from the beginning.

Viper Game (Ghostwalker Novel Book 11) - Christine Feehan

I loved it. I love the series and this installment didn't disappoint. I loved the chemistry between the two main characters; they had some really great lines between them. I like how Wyatt fought to keep Pepper, and how he wasn't afraid to jump in with both feet.  He knew what he wanted, he understood why she was a afraid to commit andhe worked to prove to her that he wasn't like all of the other men that were in her life, that he was strong enough to stand by her and love her. The action was adventurous, suspenseful, and passionate. The fight to get Wyatt's other two daughters, he has triplets that he didn't know he had, thanks to Whitney meddling again, was detailed and had great description. It had a great storyline.  Wyatt comes home after being injured in an ambush attack and he brings two of his friends with him back to the home he grew up in and back to his grand-mere, Nonny. I liked seeing Nonny again, she is such a great character. While home, he finds out that his grand-mere had been bullied by some military-typed men, and he goes out to teach them a message, that you don't mess with Nonny.  While there, he finds out that Whitney is up to no good again in his backyard. He meets Pepper and a little girl named Ginger. He is drawn to Pepper and he realizes that Ginger is his daughter (she was made in a lab and put into a surrogate, along with her two other sisters Thyme and Cannelle). Once he meets them, he begins his adventure to rescue his other two daughters and win Pepper's trust and love.  This one ends with the introduction of Ceyanne and Trap, who has their story next, Spider Game. I am excited about the next one. Wish I didn't have to wait till January for it, but it will probably be worth it.
