Note: Possible Spoiler.
'The Secret" by Giana Darling is book two in "The Evolution of Sin" Trilogy. This book continues the story of Giselle "Elle" and Sinclair "Daniel" after they both have returned from Mexico. This book picks up where the first book " The Affair" ended. So I think to get the full enjoyment of this series it would be better to read the first book too. With that said, I will say that Ms. Darling writes so well that you can make this a standalone book. I was so happy to get this book and catch up with Elle and Sinclair!
Elle has arrived back home from being away from her family for a few years. At her mother's the family is all there to welcome her back home. Elle has mixed feelings about being back because of why she left home and what all happened in Mexico with Sinclair. Elena is her older sister and they have had strained relationship for several years. But Elle is trying to move forward with her life and put things back together with her family and that included Elena. When Elena 'boyfriend' arrives we find a shocked Sinclair and Elle when they discover who the other one is. Elle can't believe that Sinclair is Elena live in boyfriend who Elena has been with for years.
'The Secret' is now started when they both agree to keep it between themselves that they had met in Mexico and had 'The Affair'.
Can they keep "The Secret" or will their feelings for each other come forward?
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read."
This book does in a cliffhanger and this series 'The Evolution of Sin' is a total of three books:
Book 1 The Affair
Book 2 The Secret
Book 3 The Consequence
Is a week of passion enough to warrant changing their lives forever?
Italian born Giselle Moore is reinventing herself for the second time in her short twenty-four years of life, trading in her bohemian artist’s life in Paris for the grit and glamour of New York City where the family she hasn’t seen in years awaits her. But before beginning her new life, she travels to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico searching for a week of relaxation and reprieve before barreling into her turbulent future.
She never expected to meet the handsome and enigmatic Frenchman Sinclair on the plane and she certainly never would have imagined herself accepting his proposal for a weeklong, no-strings-attached affair. Giselle has never experienced anything as heady as Sinclair’s controlled seduction and cool yet devastatingly erotic commands and she finds herself powerless to stop the ferocity of their passions, even when she discovers he has a partner back home. The last thing she needs in her life is another complication, yet as the week wears on, she finds it surprisingly easy to relinquish control to Sinclair, a man she knows nearly nothing about. And to her horror, the one thing she promised never to submit, her battered heart, is just as easily captured in the business mogul’s unyielding hands
I just wanted to let you know up front that this does have a small cliffhanger that set up the next book for Giselle Moore and Sinclair...their story continues.
Giselle has been away from her family for several years and she was trying to get away from some things at home and also she is a painter...and wanted to work on that. Now Elle is on her way home but her friend has given Ella a week in Cabo San Lucas because the friend and her husband couldn't make it. So Elle thinks it will be nice to have a vacation before going home and meeting the family again. While on a plane Elle meets Sinclair and he helps her get through her plane phobia. Once Elle gets settle into her hotel she ends up running into Sinclair again. This time Sinclair isn't runaway from her as he had once they got off the plane. Sinclair ask Elle is she would like to have a holiday affair with him for the week, that they would not exchange last names and only talk about certain things so that they would stay semi-strangers. Elle has never done such a thing before but she is greatly attracted to Sinclair, so she goes forward with the affair. Elle does learn that Sinclair has a girlfriend back home so that takes her back some. But we find that trying to stay semi-stranger is harder than they though.
'The Consequence' by Giana Darling is book Three in "The Evolution of Sin Trilogy". This book continues the story of Giselle 'Elle' and Sinclair 'Sin'. I strongly feel that you have to read the other two books: "The Affair" and "The Secret" to full enjoy this book as Sin and Elle story plays out in both books and this book ends with their Happy Ending'.
I have been in love with this series so I have been doing a happy dance after getting this book. Yes, I have been stalking the release of this book and counting down the days! For me, this book did not disappoint on their story line.
Elle and Sin are dealing with Elena and her finding out what has been going on with them. In addition, it appears that an old stalker is back for Elle. Sin and Elle were fighting for their love in this book and standing together. I liked seeing them as forces working together and having each other back. I still hope for more stories for the secondary characters as I love them so much too. They each had issue that I would like to read more about. So fingers crossed for more books by Ms. Darling!
I would highly recommend this whole series by Ms. Darling.
