This short story is set in the GRAYSLAKE: MORE THAN MATED world and does not stand alone. It should be read after HOWL MY NAME and is a little bit of family life for those who fell in love with the Grayslake gang and aren’t ready to let them go.

Grayslake: More than Mated: Bear Up - Mi... Once again, Ms. Carter was able to create a very short but fulfilling book. Though it was just an eight chapter book, I felt very satisfied with it.

I love the transition of the scenes and the action. I was reading the action part at the office, while waiting for my next class and I had to stop because it was becoming too intense for me. But with the love story? It was sooo sweet.

I don’t have much for words, when it comes to her. The simplicity is there. I do not wish for it to be longer for the effect will be lost. I gave this 4.5 stars.

As soon as I started reading 'Secrets to Bear' I was drawn into the book, at once hit with the betrayal Lira feels towards the town she has called home all of her life. Trying to enjoy her night out, she finds herself having to deal with her cheating ex, who doesn't want to stay an ex... when she finds herself instantly drawn to the man entering the bar. Being sent on a roadtrip to meet the rest of her family Lira is about to learn about things kept secret for too long. Sooo I'll leave it at that, no spoilers from me here. I will say I couldn't put this down, I wanted to find out how Lira handled everything. All the action & drama kept me entertained, I really enjoyed this book.

When push comes to shove, Keen has to decide if he would rather have the family he was born with, or Trista—the woman who makes him realize that true happiness comes in a lush, hyena-shaped package. 

 

Review

 

I love the couple and the world building. I love the culture of bear and hyena.

However, the motivations of the secondary characters which really control the plot of the book make little sense. Such rabid hate and quick turn arounds Heroes from past books behaving very badly.

 

I enjoyed the romance and the lead characters are well developed and engaging but these other elements not so much
