Melody has always been in love with her brother's best friend.  When he finally comes home, she has the chance to set her plan in motion.  She is determined to have her chance with him.

Adam has seen too much to believe in happily ever after.  He also has a healthy fear of what his best friend will do to him if he touches his sister.  Denying his feelings for her at this point would be foolish, however.

Such a cute story with a lot of heat.  I found the couple just charming.  Reading about their story was easy.  Each page turned faster than I remembered and before I knew it - I was done.  I give this book a 4/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

Esme is a 27 year old book loving, intelligent spinster. Fielding hunts treasures/antiquities for money. They cross paths when she is kidnapped and he is hired to find Pandora's box.
I really liked this. I liked the mix of adventure, mythology, and romance. Of course Pandora's box is opened; but not only by the easily guessed, but others too. Nice twist on the Raven's identity. Interesting how families have a lack of communication which could have solved some issues (but then Fielding and Esme might never have met, so that wouldn't have worked!) much earlier. Just talking. It's amaze balls how it helps so much, shocker that.
Interested in the next, Max's story (who is fascinated with the legend of Atlantis). Graeme's, how made an appearance in this one at the end, is book 3.

Young love becomes adult manipulation. Kelly Elliott brings on the sass. Seduce Me is a tempting look at how exes go about getting a second chance. Charleston is a firecracker with much to prove and a ton to make up for. Tucker is a brick wall that will not tumble easily. With a past that is littered with regret and a present that is full of hidden agendas the future may not be all too bright for their new beginning. Seduce Me does steam like only Kelly Elliott can. Tucker and Charleston prove that even the most broken of hearts, deserve the chance to heal.

To Seduce and Defend is my first book by Deborah Camp. It’s a Western Historical Romance I picked up on a whim while checking the author’s backlist on Amazon. I had no idea what to expect, but was really surprised how well-written it was. I can truly say that I enjoyed this one more than I thought I would!

Jennie arrived to Guthrie from St. Louis to stake a claim on the land her recently deceased husband Charles had supposedly bought for them. Like other people searching for a piece of land in this small but surely budding town, Charles came in search of a piece of land to settle down. They didn’t have a lot and Jennie had to be the leader in their marriage because Charles wasn’t up to the task. She was tired of living a tedious life with her in laws and wanted better for their only child, Oliver. When Charles returned, things hadn’t been the same with them until his death by illness a few months later. He said he wasn’t able to buy any land and his distant, melancholy demeanor, Jennie thought, was because he thought he’d failed them. After Charles’s death all she could do was to think of getting away from her in laws. When she found the deed to the land Jennie was thoroughly surprised, but she also saw an escape to a place she’s never been to before.

first off, if somehow Lisa Kleypas could've rearranged the storylines, the first would've worked better for me. This was so much richer and better in the family aspect. I have to admit, the family is the reason I'm liking the series so much better than the individual installments. 

This was undoubtedly sweet, and I thought the beginning was going to make this add up to a standout of hers for me. It was still really, really good, and I really liked Win, but the secondary characters stole the show for me--particularly Cam and Leo. What a bummer. I love the carrying-a-flame / unrequited (or assumed unrequited) trope, but I tired quickly of the back and forth. And here's what kind of fell apart for me....

If Kev was so concerned for Win's safety and what was best for her, yet controlling, how could he ever trust another man to that? In the middle with all the Julian stuff, I really felt like his character felt too inconsistent and reluctant. He would absolutely never leave her to this. I also have trouble with the self-sacrificing, know-what's-best hero being ever so reluctant.  I did love how Win broke through to Kev and was the only one who could do it-this is the case with many of my favorite romances, I just didn't buy the middle part.

Luckily, it smoothed out for me at the end. The scenes with Cam in the field were vivid and really well done IMO. Oh, but one minor annoyance --
