CEMETERY GIRL by Joseph Cognard
Cemetery Girl - Mr. Joseph A Cognard

CEMETERY GIRL

Joseph Cognard

Paperback, 246 pages
Published April 1st 2012 by Cemetery Girl (first published September 21st 2011)
ISBN:  0615624006 (ISBN13: 9780615624006)

I enjoyed reading Cemetery Girl. The characters were well written, and Janie and her friends, while very different from each other, were likable and believable. The novel is categorized as Fantasy and science fiction, but it is not at all heavy on the fantasy. Janie, who shows a talent for drawing, spends some time in a cemetery to draw. She finds that she gets messages from beyond the grave when she is there. While trying to make sense of these messages, she also deals with making sense of who she is as a teen and making friends. The illustrations were in black and white, and done by the author's daughters and fit in well with the storyline. There are some editing/proofreading marks still in the print, most of what I noticed were towards the last 1/4 of the book, which was the most distracting part of reading it.

****I received this book from the author, Joseph Cognard, through a Goodreads Giveaway in exchange for a fair review. ***

Three Twigs for the Campfire - Joseph Cognard

I'm glad that Julia and pam are friends again. I don't have to rant then and fly off the handle. Good so far.

I personally don't like Julia for making a teacher cry. That's not cool. What was you thinking Julia? You don't treat teachers like that. For the dragons, I love dragons since I was a kid. I started laughing when the dragon said that the man's eyebrows freak him out to peter. That was funny.

Written for You by Joseph Cognard
Written for You - Joseph Cognard

I received a free kindle copy of Written for You by Joseph Cognard, published by Amazon Digital Services from an Amazon promotion in exchange for a fair review. I gave it almost four stars. This doesn't reflect on the quality of the writing. It is entertaining. This is a screenplay & they are difficult for me to read.

His counselor Dr. Bael told him he has tangential speech & thought patterns. That's an interesting diagnosis.

Mike a co-worker tells Bob, the author: "And you thought it would be pretty & easy, & that you could just write a book & have no problem finding people to read it. There was some mythical tree with readers just standing around, waiting for peoples' books to ripen so they could just pick them."

Bob is seeking readers among his family, friends, co-workers & even his therapist. At one point she hits him with her kindle. One of his friends is a frustrated editor working for a shaky company.

Three Twigs for the Campfire - Joseph Cognard

I would like to thank Joseph Cognard for sending me an ARC copy of 'Three Twigs for the Campfire'. Brought back a few memories of when I was in my teenage years, sitting around the campfire!

I did enjoy the stories told by the three children, Jack, Chelsea and Billy. Loved the illustrations, which I always enjoy seeing in a book. It gives a personal touch! My favourite story out of the three was Jacks. Perhaps because my grandson is very much into anything to do with dragons.
