I was so exited and got exactly what I wanted. I wanted to re-live one of my favorite stories of all time and this manga did a great job. Immediately went to re-watch a movie after that. Star is missing for the art. Don't get me wrong, it is good, just lack a bit of shadowing for my taste, looks a bit too plain. *Digital review copy provided by NetGalley & the publisher in exchange for an honest review. It's been a few years since I've last seen The Nightmare Before Christmas, and I thought this manga adaptation would be a nice new way to revisit the story. However, I was slightly disappointed to see it was only the beginning of the story and seemed more of a sample than something to actually review. When scrolling through the reviews it becomes clear I'm not the only one.

While it's too short to really be able to get an idea of the whole story, it would still seem to me that it would be nicer to just rewatch the movie. Especially for me since it was the songs that I liked most anyway.

This Manga is full of beautiful illustrations, that tell an equally beautiful story about self-discovery, unrequited love and helping other before they make a huge mistake. Then being strong enough to help them out of the mess they've made, when that mistake is inevitably made anyway.

Very heartwarming and very much Christmass-y enough for my cravings.

This is going to be a REALLY short review because this book only had 24 pages in it??

I'm not sure if there was a problem with my copy (though checking out other reviews it seems everyone only got 24 pages) or if this was just suppose to be a sample (if so NetGalley should have included that info IMO)



In anycase, I really enjoyed the small sample I got of this little book. I'm not a HUGE fan of Manga, but I am a HUGE fan of THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, so I figured "what the heck"

The drawings were nice (black and white) and the story seemed to be OK. I mean it is hard to recommend something when you only get a few pages...sigh.

This story loses a lot of its magic in translation. It just doesn't come across with the same feeling. Super fans are still going to need it for their collection, but it was a let down for me.
