Greed
Greed - Ker Dukey,K. Webster

Micah Dixon wants it all.  Above all he wants to know what happened to his best friend, Mason and his sister, Evelyn.  Two years ago, Micah asked his father with help protecting them, but it was all lies.  With membership to New Orleans secret society, The Elite, Micah will be able to figure out a way to make up for it all.  The Elite have control of both Mason and Evelyn, and together they are going to find a way to bring it all down.  First, Micah has to take care of his task. Then there is  Sabella, the twin sister of Wrath and the girl that everyone believes that Envy has killed.

Greed is the last book in The Elite Seven Series and needs to be read last.  Micah's story brings together the suspense that has been building within the past six books.  The brothers are finally ready to take The Elite into their own hands by taking out the old order.  For this book, the story switches between Micah and Sabella's point of view.  The women's characters have been just as influential in the story as much as the men's.  Sabella regains her self confidence and builds her strength with Micah and becomes just as much a part of the group.  I'm glad that their romance was slower and took the time Sabella needed to find confidence again without losing any of the steamy scenes. The ending is exciting, violent and accomplishes what it needs.  I do wish there was a continuation of what this set of brothers achieve afterward.

Gluttony (The Elite Seven #5)
Gluttony - K. Webster

Baxter Samuel Goddard V, or God to his friends has been given life on a silver platter. His father is one of the richest men in the world an has made sure that everything is in excess. This also means that he was able to buy God into The Elite, the controlling secret society in New Orleans. God takes on The Elite mostly for his best friend, Rhett so they can be members together. However, the task that God has been given will directly impact Rhett and their friendship. God completes his task for The Elite, but also injures a young woman in the process. Even though God's dad takes care of any consequences for the snafu, God feels terrible for ruining the life of the woman and stays by her side throughout her recovery. Zemira is horrified that the man who hurt her is there when she wakes up; but, he is helpful and the only one she has. As she recovers, Zemira discovers that maybe all Gluttony needed was a little lesson in temperance.

Gluttony is the fifth book in The Elite Seven Series and things are getting really good now. I would definitely read the other four books beforehand since a lot of plot points are beginning to come together in this book. I actually really liked God's character, he was flawed and he knew it and his worst fear was becomming his father. Though it seemed wrong, I really enjoyed the progression and romance between God and Zemira. I was well paced and surprisingly respectful. They turned out to be exactly what each other needed. Gluttony moves the plot along at a good pace as well. I was glad to find out more about Lillian's situation and see what her consequences were to her scheming. Wrath's story is also continued and it looks like there might be some closure for Sabella and some ramifications for Envy. The ending seems to signify that some change is coming with this class of The Elite and I definitely want to jump into the next two books soon.

Our planet, Mortuus, is lost and dying.
A desolate place where a few lone survivors dwell.
My men have lost hope. Our future is bleak.
Longevity is a luxury we can’t afford.
The most we can hope for is survival.
We’ve all but given up when an opportunity presents itself.

Five females—a chance at a future.
Procuring these women went against everything I’d been taught, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
They’re ours now.
Asleep and made ready for breeding.
We won’t die out—lost and forgotten.
It’s our destiny to grow and once again inhabit our lonely planet.

I am Breccan Aloisius, the forgotten commander.
My people will have the future they deserve.
I’ll make sure of it.

My mind is made up…until she wakes and nothing goes as planned.

The Forgotten Commander is book one in the Lost Planet series by K. Webster & Nicole Blanchard.

I struggled all the way through this novel. This review maybe hard for others to understand or read. I tried not to disrespect the authors’s work, but I needed to say what this book felt like to me.

I found this book disappointing and all kinds of wrong. It’s an alien breeding romance with very little romance at all. It’s more along the lines of Stockholm Syndrome.

First off Aria is violated while in cryogenic sleep with the aliens implanting their seed inside her. It’s rape! It’s a violation! It’s wrong! I understand that the aliens are the last of their kind with no women of their own on this plant and that they need to reproduce, but I didn’t like how the author decided to play this out. Once Aria wakes from the cryogenic sleep, she learns what happened, and since the baby was lost she is forced to have sex with Breccan, the Commander. She has no choice in this. The sex is rape. No other way to look at it. Breccan doesn’t see this and neither do any of the other aliens. Non of the aliens even get that what they are doing to her and the other women; is wrong.

Breccan eventually tried to please his mate, Aria. Along with the rest of the alien guys, but it was just too little too late. Their was no revolution to these aliens that what they did and what they are doing is a violation.

Aria was simply annoying. She just gave in, didn’t fight or stand up for herself, and even thou the author tried to change this story up and make it a romance, it came off as Stockholm Syndrome.

The story itself had a lot of holes. Their was very little world building and I didn’t particularly like any of the characters.

The Forgotten Commander was not the book for me. I don’t know if I’ll read on or not.

Rated: 1 Star

Book Review: What's So Wonderful About Webster?
What's So Wonderful About Webster? - Stephen Kendrick,Alex Kendrick,Daniel Fernandez

What's So Wonderful About Webster? is a book that seems to be about learning that everyone is different and unique. They all can help by just being them. God seems to know what you are good at even if you don't. This book focuses on that.

What's So Wonderful About Webster? Is about Webster trying to find out what he good at. The concept is that you may want to look to god. As he already knows. This book is good for children and parents. Parents can read it to their children so that they learn the lesson that god as a plan for them.

The pictures tell the story. The pictures are done well. I see that Webster kind struggles with he good at. But websites parents try and help him out or at least guide him. That God knew before he was born at what he was good at.
