First comes marriage, then comes…

Rusty Walker has spent her entire life trying to earn her tough, ranching father’s respect and approval by learning the business inside and out. But now her uncompromising parent has decreed she must marry if she wants to inherit. Worse, her husband has to be someone who can help her run the business. As if she needs it!

Williams Hill kissed Rusty in a bar in an act of temporary insanity, and lost his heart to her on the spot. Despite the complications to his own rodeo stock business, he agrees to marry the feisty red-head, hoping to woo her once they’re hitched. But she only views him with suspicion and resentment.

Can this soft-spoken Texas cowboy convince his proud wife, who’s never known unconditional love, that she is everything he wants?

EXCERPT

Williams Hill dragged his hand over his face as he sat in his truck at a stoplight in Estes Park, Colorado. After two straight days of driving up from Texas, he was ready to reach his destination of the rodeo grounds in the small Rocky Mountain town. Flexing his shoulders to work out the kinks, he happened to glance over at the vehicle stopped next to him.

Everything in him froze… then released in a pent-up laugh.

The woman driving a shiny new black Ford truck was gorgeous with high cheekbones and pouty lips. Her long hair was pulled back in a ponytail, so he couldn’t quite make out the color, but her appearance wasn’t what had made him laugh.

She was clearly enjoying a favorite song—singing and dancing for all she was worth, without a care in the world for who might be watching. He chuckled again as she did a little shoulder shimmy. Adorable was the word that struck him, and he was strangely affected, an instant attraction coiling inside in a way that surprised him.

He wasn’t an instant attraction kind of guy.

Suddenly, she glanced toward him and stilled as she discovered her audience. Her eyes went wide and she sent him a sheepish grin. He smiled back and pretended to tip an imaginary hat. However, instead of another smile, she went cold on him, eyes hardening, lips thinning. She whipped her head around to face forward, her chin in the air, and didn’t glance his way again. She definitely didn’t start singing again. Not that she would have had much time, because the light changed a second later.

She was quick to hit the gas, faster on the draw than Will, who was still blinking at her abrupt about-face. He almost expected her windows to frost with the drop in temperature in there. A flash of bright pink on her back window caught his attention as she drove ahead of him. For the second time in a handful of minutes, Will chuckled. The sparkly sticker on the back of her truck read Silly Boys, Trucks are for Girls. Lips tipped in amusement, he shook his head.

At the next light, she went straight when he turned, which meant she probably wasn’t there for the rodeo. He gave a mental shrug. Wouldn’t be seeing her again. Probably for the best, since he was here to work.

Author Bio:
Award-winning contemporary romance author, Kadie Scott, grew up consuming books and exploring the world through her writing. She attempted to find a practical career related to her favorite pastime by earning a degree in English Rhetoric (Technical Writing). However, she swiftly discovered that writing without imagination is not nearly as fun as writing with it.

No matter the genre, she loves to write witty, feisty heroines, sexy heroes who deserve them, and a cast of lovable characters to surround them (and maybe get their own stories). She currently resides in Austin, Texas, with her own personal hero, her husband, and their two children, who are growing up way too fast.

Review For: The Attraction Equation by Kadie Scott
The Attraction Equation - Kadie Scott

The Attraction Equation by Kadie Scott is the Second Book in the "Love Undercover" Series. This is the story of Max Carter and Gina Castillo. I have read the previous book but feel this can easily be a standalone book. Max is a FBI agent that looks into white color criminals and totally focused on his career. Permanent relationships aren't in the cards for him right now and likes the one night stands and the women who know not to hang around. But since his best friend Drew met Cassie (First Book) and his family staying on him about dating he just had enough. So when he was at his family's house for Thanksgiving Dinner and his mother had three non family women over trying to fix him up he announced that he had a girlfriend. Now his mother wants him to bring the said girlfriend to Christmas Dinner.
Gina is house sitting and taking over her friends lease while she is overseas for a few months. Gina's brother has been wanting a dog and Gina happens to stop by an animal shelter just looking around finds the perfect dog. But her friends apartment building doesn't allow pets so Gina is trying to keep him hidden for the month until Christmas when she can give her younger brother, Meto the dog. But on while trying to sneak him out one night to take him on a bathroom break she gets caught by the stuff up neighbor Max her friend warned her about.
Max soon comes to an arrangement that he will keep her secret if she helps him out with the 'girlfriend' issue.
This was a fun, sweet romance that you won't want to put down.

Trouble
The Attraction Equation - Kadie Scott

This is the 2nd book in the Love Undercover series.  This book can be read as a standalone novel.  To avoid spoilers, and have a better understanding of the series, I recommend reading this great series in order.

Gina & Max meet under some really odd circumstances.  Him being with the FBI, you do not expect him to do what he has to do to avoid his mom.  Gina is shocked and amused.

Max needs someone to be his girlfriend right away.  Gina nearly falls into his lap.  Together they find that with a little bit of hope, comedy of errors, and a small furball that anything can happen.

This was such a great story.  From start to finish I was enthralled and could not put the book down.  I love the banter, and this is a sexy story from start to finish.  These are really great characters that I hope we will see again.  I give this book a 5/5 Kitty's Paws UP!

Book Review For: 'The Wrong Kind of Compatible' by Kadie Scott
The Wrong Kind of Compatible (A Love Undercover Romantic Comedy) - Kadie Scott
The Wrong Kind of CompatibleThe Wrong Kind of Compatible by Kadie Scott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

'The Wrong Kind of Compatible' by Kadie Scott is book One in the New series "Love Undercover". This is the story of Drew Kerrigan and Cassie Howard.
Cassie is the classic essential nerd who doesn't know if she talking with her inter voice or with her actual voice. So things sometimes just come out of her mouth. But Cassie is a hard worker and once she gets on a project she doesn't want to stop so she has a hard time doing so when the company introduces Drew as a new employee. Cassie is taken back by how handsome he is...and then she finds out he working with her personally. Cassie works as a Government contractor so she takes her work seriously and feels somewhat threaten by Drew who introduces himself at first as if he is taking over her position.
Drew is serious non social type guy who is working for the Government, and know is assigned to look into this company and more importantly Cassie. Drew is doing so undercover to see what has been going on with this company so trying to get Cassie to trust him went wrong from the start.
I have to say this book hooked me in from the start! I so loved how funny these two were in their 'head voices' much less what they actually did. This was a joy to read and look for more books in this series...and by this author.
"My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read."
