Kidneapped At Christmas, Maggie K. Black
Kidnapped at Christmas (True North Bodyg... Kidnapped at Christmas (True North Bodyguards) - Maggie K. Black

I really enjoyed this romantic suspense. I received this book for free and I voluntarily chose to review it. I've given this a 5* rating. This book pulled me in from the start and held me till the end. I was up to 4 this morning to finish this. Lots of messed up characters in this to keep you guessing and lots of action to keep you turning those pages.

Brief Thoughts: Risky Christmas
Risky Christmas - Jill Sorenson

Risky Christmas -- anthology

  • Holiday Secrets by Jill Sorenson
  • Kidnapped At Christmas by Jennifer Morey

This dual-story anthology has some good points and some bad points.

Holiday Secrets got better as the story progressed, with a typical Romantic Suspense plot and the usual instalust/instalove romance device. But it's still not much to write home about. I'd say that this is not Jill Sorenson's best work as I have immensely enjoyed the two Aftershock novels of hers. Obviously it's a little harder to pack too much development into a short novella, and the entire story came to a close before I even realized it was there.

Kidnapped At Christmas was a more fleshed out plot with a better romantic development, but a somewhat scattered narration. And also we have a TSTL heroine, and so it lost some points. But overall, it was attention-hooking and entertaining in its own way. Still, it was a fairly mediocre read as a Romantic Suspense and also, I feel like Chloe talks too much and spends too much time telling us things we can deduce on our own. Also, the romance was a little wonky to stand behind.

Overall, this makes for an okay Christmastime read.

Kidnapped for Christmas
Kidnapped for Christmas - Evangeline Anderson 3.5*
Buddy read with Jo

I liked it, though it was lacking in some points. I can't get over the fact that she did all that without a safe word!

The Kidnapped Christmas Bride
The Kidnapped Christmas Bride - Jane Porter "Awww" & Gives you that "Warm & Fuzzy" feeling.

This one is the 3rd book in this series, but the 1st time reading one of Jane Porter’s book. Now having said that, I think the book stood on it’s own very well. I didn’t feel like I was missing the bigger picture, which is a good thing. I tend to read Christmas stories during warm weather and vise aversive in the cold weather. I thought it was a pretty story especially with little TJ. He offered up some “aawww” moments in his innocence. The sweetness of the storyline was nice to read as the family is reunited for the Christmas holidays. Even if it’s under the most unusual circumstances. It definitely has that “warm & fuzzy” appeal to it. Looks like I’m going to find the rest of the books in the series. I think that I’ll give it a 4 out of 5 stars.

**Please Note** I received this ARC from Net Gallery for the exchange of my honest opinion. So this is my personal opinion and doesn't reflect on any one who were involved in the making of the book.

The Kidnapped Christmas Bride
The Kidnapped Christmas Bride (Taming of the Sheenans Book 3) - Jane Porter

The Kidnapped Christmas Bride by Jane Porter
This book is about Trey Shennan who's just out of prison and is tired of the reputation of being the bad wild boy of his younger years.
On the outside was the mother of his child, McKenna and his child TJ that he wants to make amends with and prove to them that he has changed.
He's just out in time for Christmas and he had missed his father passing away.
Story also follow McKenna and it's her wedding day, to Lawrence Joplin. Tragedies are in her past and she's ready to move on.
Interrupted wedding ceremony and TJ wants his real dad.  Trey just wants a real Christmas with his son and his mom has to go along with them.
They do share a lot of the past to bring the reader up to speed and help you understand why things are the way they are.
The angels she made him buy when she was 15 and he recalls and gets her a gift of one reminds me of the thousands of angels my mom has collected over the years.
She had special ones for the family members we have lost and just last year we lost her but with her angels we will always remember her.
The angel in this story will bring peace to all. Second chances are worth the heart ache. such a heartwarming story and family.
Authors other works in this series are highlighted at the end.
