Long time, no post! Despite being on a bit of a reading hiatus, I still wanted to post my favorites from this year. I hope to get back to my books in the new year. I have always had some trouble finding balance in my life, but it's comforting to know that when I'm ready my books will be waiting for me.

September #BookADayUK Day 4 - The Book(s) You Bought for the Cover
Vessel - Sarah Beth Durst
Wanderlove - Kirsten Hubbard
A Study in Silks - Emma Jane Holloway
The Spirit Window - Joyce Sweeney
A Study in Darkness - Emma Jane Holloway

Yeah...I have a lot of choices for this day's prompt, but I'll leave it at five choices that came to mind.

All of these books were ones that hit me with coverlust the first time I saw them.  I bought "Vessel" by Sarah Beth Durst (and it turned out to be a brilliant read for me) in hardback because I loved the cover and premise.  I finally caved and bought "Wanderlove" by Kristen Hubbard and "The Spirit Window" because I wanted them on my shelves (and I loved the reads.  "Wanderlove" I actually read as a NetGalley ARC).  I haven't read "A Study in Silks" or "A Study in Darkness" by Emma Jane Holloway, but the cover lust hit me hard when I saw them on Amazon and in the bookstore respectively, so I bought them both.

Peruse the pretty!  Looking forward to tomorrow's entry. =)

Cheers,

Rose

More Books Ordered via Amazon Prime
Kiss the Bride: The Wedding DressThe Wedding KissSparks Fly - Lucy Kevin
Hard to Handle (Love in the Balance) - Jessica Lemmon
Wanderlove - Kirsten Hubbard
Time Management from the Inside Out: The Foolproof System for Taking Control of Your Schedule--and Your Life - Julie Morgenstern

Two of these I've read before, but two are new to me.  I think this is the last batch of stuff I'll buy until my next paycheck in two weeks, but I figure I have a decent haul (and enough stuff to read in physical book form) for now.

Wanderlove [Review]
Wanderlove - Kirsten Hubbard

I LOVED this book! You know how sometimes you find a book that is so exactly the type of book you want to read? That was my experience with this book.

First off, this book had a lot going for it from the beginning. Because I love travel/road trip books. Before now most of the books I've read that feature travel have been set in Europe or the US. So when I saw this book listed on a YA road trip list, I was immediately drawn to the fact it takes place in Central America and involved backpacking. My first thought: MUST BUY!

I think the author did an amazing job of transporting me to all the places that are visited in the book. She even made me think backpacking would be fun (and trust me when I say, I'm NOT the backpacking type.)

I enjoyed all the characters. They were flawed and they had some of that typical teen stuff going on (so if you don't like YA because of all the teenagers, this is probably not for you.) I enjoy books like this because there is the possibility of so much character growth and I was not disappointed. Both Bria and Rowan grow so much on the trip and both learns things from each other which is exactly how I like YA books to go.

The ending was perfect.

Overall, loved it. So glad I picked it up.

I'm using this book for R in my A to Z reading challenge.
