The Light Who Binds
The Light Who Binds - Lilo Abernathy,Sha... The Light Who Binds - Lilo Abernathy,Shauna Ward Loved it. Bluebell, Jack and Varg are back and the stakes are getting higher.
This book more or less starts from were The Light Who Shines ended.
Bluebell is all healed after the torture she endured at the hands of Tobias Blackwater and is ready to be told the big secrets surrounding The key, Lilith and Bluebell's role in the whole affair..
This book answered a lot of questions from the first book, while at the same time leaving new questions to be answered.
I liked the fact that in this book we also get to know a little more about Dragomira and her role in the story, as well as been introduced to the mysterious Anna Marie. There were shocks aplenty in this book and the biggest for me was the evil Dean Schimdt, I was rooting for him to be flayed alive, but he seems to be a major player maybe?

There were times when I wanted to smack Jack then he doe's something to surprise me. He is the helpless hero, but flawed and I liked that.
This book just flowed with so much been revealed yet still kept back. So many hints I just need the next book.

Challenging Myself!

In the realm of ideas everything depends on enthusiasm… in the real world all rests on perseverance. – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

A book is a garden, an orchard, a storehouse, a party, a company by the way, a counselor, a multitude of counselors. – Henry Ward Beecher

I am miserably behind. On everything.  Yup. Everything.

If I received hard copies of all the work that I need to do, my office would look like this:

And it makes me want to tear my hair out. Of course, it’s my own fault. Books are like Chocolate, You Can Never Get Too Much! Well. Not really.

You see, I am not really a “Procrastinator.” No, Really! I am more like . . .

shiny-new-book! So, much to my chagrin, I am way behind on reviews.

To everyone I owe reviews to:

Below is a list of books I owe reviews on (in no particular order) that you will be seeing, coming soon! Of course, there will be book tours and cover reveals, but these people have been waiting a while, and for that I apologize. I just got a bit “over excited” there for a while and accepted more books that I could handle, even with MY voracious appetite for books!

Review: The Light Who Shines by Lilo Abernathy
The Light Who Shines - Lilo Abernathy

I would describe The Light Who Shines, author Lilo Abernathy's debut novel, as crime-meets-paranormal with a fair amount of mystery, thrills, some romance and a pretty steamy sex scene or two!

It is the year 2022, in the time of the Red Ages. Bluebell Kildare is an Inspector attached to the Homicide Unit of the Supernatural Investigation Bureau. The Unit picks up cases in which the perpetrator is a Vampire or someone magically Gifted. Blue is signed a new case in which the victim met his end in a particularly gory manner, unusual in that it is seemingly unrelated to his Gift.

Lilo Abernathy's words tell the story with an easy flow, pulling you in slowly from the start, until you realised hours have passed but you just have to read one more chapter! The characters are engaging and endearing, or menacing and unrepenting. Blue is a worthy heroine but shows her vulnerability at the same time.

My only criticism of this novel is that there are a few spelling/grammatical errors, but, given that this is a self-published novel, this number pales into insignificance when compared to other similar books. Roll on book 2, The Light Who Binds!

Sincere thanks to Lilo Abernathy, for providing me with a review copy; and to Varg, who we would love to welcome here at the house of hounds!
