Book Review for WITHIN A CAPTAIN'S POWER by Lisa Olech
Within a Captain's Power (Captains of the Scarlet Night) - Lisa Olech

WITHIN A CAPTAIN'S POWER
by Lisa Olech
PUB DATE: 4/4/2017
Genre: Historical Romance

Never underestimate the power of a pirate . . .

Captain James Steele is duty bound to capture the privateer Scarlet Night and bring her rebellious crew to England to hang. Then he will leave his majesty’s service, make an upstanding marriage, and join the landed gentry. But the winds of fate are blowing the straitlaced commander utterly off course.

Once aboard, James comes face to face with a pirate boy who is in reality fierce, desperate—and gorgeous—Samantha Christian, on the run from a sadistic Virginia plantation owner. With her identity unbound, the good captain dutifully takes her under his personal command, whereupon decorum goes out the porthole. But while his heart is lost to Samantha by the time they reach England, her noose still awaits. Now James’s sense of duty will be severely tested. As for Samantha, she has a plan, and a duty, of her own . . .

What a wonderful love story.I loved the characters they were intriguing ,funny, kind protective, stern an all so love-able.I definitely would love to read more books in its series.
Samantha had to be my favorite character.I found her to be loving, brave, had a backbone, adventurous ,protective, smart and intriguing and to prideful to the point that it gets you killed. Samantha plotted and made plans to get herself out of a bad situation where she is being beaten, raped and tortured with the help of a friend who helps her escape to a pirate ship. You had to be in awe of her bravery for escaping and then having to keep up a charade of being a cabin boy without the other crew members finding out her secrets.Samantha made me laugh so many times and with her antic's especially for not thinking before she acted. She kept getting herself in some scrapes that is for sure .(chuckles)I loved how bold she was with Captain Steele whether it was in the ballroom or the ships cabin she created some very steamy interludes with that dreamy captain of hers.

Tupper omg ,what apiece of work she was bossy, bold ,mouthy, sweet kind and protective she made one hell of a captain and a women to boot! Loved that little surprise!

Poor James he was stuck between a rock and a hard place from the onset of the story trying to save the women he loved and the women who saved his parents. You felt horrible for him as there was a chance that he would never be able to be with the women he had come to love.I found him to be love-able ,kind and caring ,sexy as sin and honorable and honest and protective , loving and willing to go out on a limb for those he cared about.

I love when you can connect with the characters that you read about and I was able to do that with them they were just so love-able and honorable.James and Samantha's romance was doomed from the onset which had me rooting for them to be able to claim their happily ever after.

A great read that was fast paced, had an intriguing funny plot with a great bunch of characters with a few surprises thrown in the mix . A cute loved story. We loved it!

A recommend read to all. Will definitely he checking out the other books in its series.

Lisa A. Olech is an artist/writer living in her dream house nestled among the lakes in New England. She loves getting lost in a steamy book, finding the perfect pair of sexy shoes, and hearing the laughter of her men. Being an estrogen island in a sea of testosterone makes her queen. She believes in ghosts, silver linings, the power of a man in a tuxedo, and happy endings.

Within A Captain's Treasure
Within A Captain's Treasure - Lisa A. Ol... Within A Captain's Treasure - Lisa A. Olech I received an eARC, from NetGalley and the publisher, in exchange for an honest review.
'Within A Captain's Treasure' by Lisa A. Olech is book two in the " Captains of the Scarlet Night" series. I have read book one 'Within a Captain's Hold' and that is where Alice Tupper saves her mistress from a Duke by killing him. Now Alice is on the run and tries to head to America. But Alice finds that even this is not easy...she ends up helping to fight Pirates. Alice is rescued by a shipped called 'The Scarlet Night', there she meets Captain Gavin Quinn. Alice is quickly taken in by the crew but not so much by the Captain yet. Gavin knows the sea pirating life would not be for a women and surly not for Alice. This is where the two have to get past their reluctant feelings and also deal with the past. I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed this book and series. I love Ms. Olech writing and can't wait for the next great book by her!

Within a Captain's Hold
Within a Captain's Hold - Lisa A. Olech Within a Captain's Hold - Lisa A. Olech it's not a bad book for someone who is just starting to read the historical romance genre. I found it interesting but after 3 chapters I was rather bored. I don't know why, it's just there is no pull in the story, even though the writing itself is not too bad. the flow too forced the passion too bland. I won't give it a rating because I decided to stop at 28%.

Within a Captain's Hold
Within a Captain's Hold - Lisa A. Olech Within a Captain's Hold - Lisa A. Olech This is the first book in the series "Captains of the Scarlet Night". This is also my first book that I have read of Lisa A Olech. I have found my self in love with her writing. I loved the whole story of this book and usually I am not one to like a pirate story but I could not help but love this one!! Our poor heroine, Annalise Gatherone, is having to run for her life after a madman has set his sites on making her his wife. The madman is a Duke and has killed her Uncle to ensure that he gets her. She and her friend Alice think of a plan to have her stow away on a ship to out smart the Duke. Alice will be off pretending to be her and throw the Duke off. On the ship our hero, Captain Jaxon Steele finds Anna in a room on the ship hurt, he and his Cook take her to his cabin. This starts their story of fighting, overcoming and loving! There are some really good love scene and I did feel a time or two that Jaxon was being somewhat hard-head...but I loved every minute of this book!! I am so glad to have found Ms. Olech and can't wait for any of her books to come!! I hope that you will enjoy this book too!!
