Love Hate Relationship
Love Hate Relationship - Jessica Prince Love Hate Relationship - Jessica Prince Jessica Prince instantly became one of my favorite authors with this book. It was soooo good. It was sexy without being filthy, it was tense without being angsty, he was actually an asshole, as described. She didn't have to repeatedly say it on every page to try and force the reader to believe it, unlike some series *cough* Beautiful Series *cough*.
I loved these characters, they were believable and had strong personalities, even the sideline characters were great, I can't wait to read the spin-offs. I laughed so hard at one point, I peed a little, it was just a great read. I started this book and I didn't stop until I was finished, well I took a bathroom break :P

“Three years ago, curious little Erika Fane wanted to play with the boys, so we indulged her, and she betrayed us. There was no way we'd forget.

What. A. Book!! How do I even review a book like this one? Like seriously! This book was crazy good. I would say it was more of a thriller with an intense and twisted story line than actually dark, though. I started off reading this book not knowing what to expect and I think this the perfect way to get into this one. You should definitely just dive into this book without reading any reviews because I think you will get a better experience from it.

Rika Fane is tired of feeling trapped and controlled. She wants to get the reins back of her life, so she has decided to go away to college and live on her own. She just needs to breathe and be herself, something she has done since that one night years ago with Michael.

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

"Such a good girl...
Say it, Rika."
"I'm a good girl," she panted, her voice shaky.
"And I'm going to fuck you up."

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

Rika has known Michael Crist and his family her whole life. Michael has always been scary yet intriguing to her. She is drawn to him even though she knows she should stay away. Still, she falls for him despite him always overlooking and pushing her away. Rika saw something in him, something mysterious that she wanted to uncover. But, that was in the past. After what happened, she wants nothing to do with Michael and his friends, Kai, Will, and Damon. She just wants to be left alone. However, unbeknownst to her, Michael has her exactly where he wants her, in his building. He will get his revenge for what she did to his friends that night. No one gets away with betraying them. They will ruin her.

My feelings were pretty much all over the place with this book. There were some parts that were a bit hard to read through. Some things made me mad, others scared the ever-loving crap out of me. It was fast paced, and the things that happened. No matter what, though, I couldn't seem to put this book down. And when I did, it was all I could think about. I enjoyed the originality of the story. I liked seeing the characters grow. Especially Rika, because when she was younger, she kind of annoyed me a bit. But as she grew, she became stronger. Although, I really wanted her the make them work for her forgiveness. It kind of happened a little too fast for me. Then there was this one scene that I was totally not expecting but really liked. It was hot and sexy, and seemed to come out of no where, but again, I'm not complaining. All it left me with is a deep craving for Kai's book. I freaking hope he gets one and soon. The last part of this book was really good and it had me on the edge of my seat. The ending was good too, and it fit the tone of the story very well.

'He was everything.
My entire life, I only felt completely alive when he was close, and while I knew nothing would ever be easy with him, I also knew nothing would ever be good without him, either.'

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

Overall, this was a book that you will love and hate. Just how I loved and hated Michael at the same time. The events in this book are twisted, kinky, and just plainly effed up which is why it definitely won't be for everyone. Still, I was unable to put it down, I was that engrossed in it. This may be different from anything that Penelope Douglas has ever written, but I think she did a great job with it. If dark and twisted romances are your thing, then I definitely recommend you give this one a read.

REVIEW: Reaper's Fall by Joanna Wylde
Reaper's Fall - Joanna Wylde

♥ ♥ ♥ 3 STARS ♥ ♥ ♥

Well this was a highly anticipated book for me. I love this series, so when I found out Painter was getting a book, not gonna lie, I was freaking excited.

The book started off in a good way. It started with Painter getting really angry at seeing Melanie with a biker guy. I didn't know what the hell was going on but I knew one thing, Painter was ready to claim his woman. The book then goes back in time to when Painter was in prison. The only way he seemed to survive the time he was there was by reading the letters Melanie wrote to him. But once he is out, he decides that Melanie deserves a better man so he ignores her. Melanie tries to do just that but every time she does Painter ruins it.

Eventually Painter gives into his feelings and wants to try to make something work with Melanie. However his decisions ends up costing him everything. He just hopes Melanie will stay by his side after he screwed up.

The book continues on with time passing into years. We see how the characters change and become a bit more grown up. I really enjoyed the start of this book. I liked the chemistry between Painter and Melanie. Yes, Painter could at times be a jackass but the way he started to fall for her made me melt. I loved that these two started out as friends, then watching that tension between them grow and explode was so awesome. I liked Melanie, but there were also things that slightly annoyed me about her. Still, I didn't mind her and really appreciated the lengths she would go to protect her loved ones. Painter I also liked, but he wasn't without flaws. There were many times I wish he would have just man up already. He did improve in that aspect later on, which I was happy about.

Unfortunately though, I was hoping something would happen that would solidify them as a couple for me. Because if you add up all the time they actually spent together, it wasn't much. So I wanted more of them getting to know each other, or something that would strengthen their connection. I just didn't feel like it happened until the very end, and that left me a bit disappointed because then the book was over. They got together too fast in the beginning and then time was passing by as well. I guess I just wanted more romance between them. The sex was hot and all, but I wanted more scenes where you could see them emotionally connected. The story line involving the Reapers was pretty good though. It definitely made things a lot more interesting. Overall, I did enjoy the book despite it all. I thought it was a good read. I didn't love it like I was hoping but that's okay, it happens. I'm still very much excited to read Gage's book. I seriously cannot wait.

"Love is beautiful, shattering, moving, haunting. Love is everything."

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

Oh, this book! It had me from the start. You know what a sucker I am for a good second chance at romance story, and this one did not disappoint me in the least.

Elle and Oliver have known each other since they were kids. Oliver is best friends with Elle's brother, so they are all pretty close. But one night things change. Oliver notices that Elle has grown up and the attraction between them grows with each night they talk. However Oliver has a plan he must do first before he even thinks about starting a relationship. Elle feels strongly for Oliver no matter how much she tries not to let it show. She knows he doesn't do relationships, especially not with his best friends little sister, but she still hopes he will. Unfortunately it only leads to heart ache when he leaves for medical school where he seems to be moving on with his life. She tries to do the same, any only gets more hurt.

“We live in a galaxy of our own,” I whisper, kissing his earlobe. I smile when his breath quickens. “Where the storms pass, and the light fades, and everything ceases to exist except for us.”

Years later, they end up crossing paths again. Oliver is back to finish off his residency. Oliver and Elle may have not had good timing in the past, but Oliver is determined to not let go of her this time. Elle has had so much hurt thrown her way that she is really reluctant to let Oliver back into her life. She doesn't know if she wants to experience any more pain, especially now that her heart is not completely healed. But, with Oliver being very insistent, it really is hard to resist.

This book was so freaking good. This was my first book from this author and definitely won't be my last. I just loved Elle and Oliver. Elle was passionate about her art, very kind and giving, comfortable in her skin, and quite stubborn. But I just liked her. Oliver, what to say about Oliver except SWOON!! Seriously this guy is so perfect even when he isn't. He was super sexy and so damn sweet, I adored him. I didn't care how many times he frustrated me, he just stole my freaking heart. And then there was the sexual tension and the angst. Both of those things were just the right amount that the story needed. I can't tell you how happy I was that I was able to connect with these two completely. Loved!

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

Another thing that I loved about this, was how well written it was. I really appreciated having those chapters in the past where we get to see how things developed between Elle and Oliver. It doesn't always work in every book, but it really flowed so well in this one. I loved watching these two grow, heal, and overcome all the hurt. The ending was perfect. Loved everything about it and left me with a huge grin on my face. Overall, It was a really beautiful and quite an emotional story. I thoroughly enjoyed it and it definitely comes highly recommended from me. I cannot wait to read the next one.

Grayson's Vow - Mia Sheridan

“Today may be a very bad day, but tomorrow may be the best day of your life. You just have to hang on until you get there.”

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

Kira Dallaire finds herself in a place she never thought she would be in, penniless and alone. She is determined to make it on her own and not seek any help from her wealthy father. Then she overhears at the bank that a man is being denied a loan, she recognizes his name, Grayson Hawthorn. Grayson is a an ex-con trying to keep the vineyard his father left him after his death afloat. But he has very limited funds and it doesn't seem like he will be able to keep it open for much longer. Things change when a young woman shows up at his home with a crazy scheme that would benefit the both of them.

“Love is not always smooth and easy. Love can be piercing. Love means exposing yourself – all of yourself, every tender part – to being hurt. Because true love is not only the flower, true love is also the thorns.”

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

Kira knows her idea of getting married may sound insane to Grayson, but it makes sense to her. She proposes they get married in order for her to be able to get the trust her grandmother left her and split it with Grayson. They finally agree to it, despite the fact that they can barely tolerate each other at times. The deal is to split in half, live together for about two months, and in a year's time, they will divorce keeping their own money without taking any of the others.

Kira may have had a tough childhood, but that has only made her stronger. She refuses to lose hope or her optimism that things will get better. She enjoys having fun, and isn't afraid of working hard despite her coming from money. Meanwhile, Grayson has also had a terrible way of growing up, and it has affected him deeply. After being sent to prison, he changed a lot. He has built a wall around himself so that nothing can ever emotionally affect him again. He feels unworthy nor does he ever want love in his life. So, in other words, they are quite opposite. But that made things so much more interesting. These two fought, argued, and disliked each other, but each day they felt a little more for one another. Having the story in both of their P.O.V. was perfect. I loved knowing how Grayson was feeling and how he was slowly falling in love with Kira.

‘My beautiful little witch – there was magic within her, and I wanted to bathe in its light.’

●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●  ●

This book was a little bit different the few previous books of the Sign of Love series. This one wasn't as heavy or heart wrenching as those. There was quite of bit of angst, though, which I enjoyed. I loved the characters and how they challenged each other. I love Kira and how selfless and sassy she was. I liked Grayson despite how stubborn he could be, because when he let go, it was heartwarming. The story was really cute with a very fairytale like quality to it. The only thing I can say is that there were moments that seemed a little too perfect and too sweet to me, and I usually don't get bothered by that sort of thing, but it did a bit in this one. I also wish Kira would have made Grayson work harder for her near the end. Other than that, it was really great. I loved many of the secondary characters. I just really enjoyed it, and didn't really want to put it down. Overall, it was a wonderful read.
