4.3 Out Of 5 STARS for this first installment of "The Bargainer" Series.
Rhapsodic - Laura Thalassa

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~ABOUT THE BOOK~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Callypso Lillis is a siren with a very big problem, one that stretches up her arm and far into her past. For the last seven years she’s been collecting a bracelet of black beads up her wrist, magical IOUs for favors she’s received. Only death or repayment will fulfill the obligations. Only then will the beads disappear.

Everyone knows that if you need a favor, you go to the Bargainer to make it happen. He’s a man who can get you anything you want … at a price. And everyone knows that sooner or later he always collects.

But for one of his clients, he’s never asked for repayment. Not until now. When Callie finds the fae king of the night in her room, a grin on his lips and a twinkle in his eye, she knows things are about to change. At first, it’s just a chaste kiss—a single bead’s worth—and a promise for more.

For the Bargainer, it’s more than just a matter of rekindling an old romance. Something is happening in the Otherworld. Fae warriors are going missing one by one. Only the women are returned, each in a glass casket, a child clutched to their breast. And then there are the whispers among the slaves, whispers of an evil that’s been awoken.

If the Bargainer has any hope to save his people, he’ll need the help of the siren he spurned long ago. Only, his foe has a taste for exotic creatures, and Callie just happens to be one.

~MY QUICKIE REVIEW~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If I was still really into paranormal romance, I would have really loved this, but lately, I haven't been feeling this genre.  That being said, this is still a remarkable start to an imaginative series.  Mostly well written (despite the lack of a decent proofreader) with genuinely likable and kick-ass characters.  The romance is not only sweet but hot AF too.
If you're into paranormal/urban fantasy with adult themes and like adeptly penned, witty banter that draws you in; then you should give this little-known author a chance.
4 Out Of 5 "The Heart Wants What It Wants" Stars...
Things We Know by Heart - Jessi Kirby
~MY THOUGHTS~
While this didn't strike a chord with me quite like I wanted it to, I did really enjoy it.  A quick, but sweetly poignant story, that is refreshingly told. The tidbits at the beginning of each chapter in reference to the heart and heart transplants were neat.
If you've ever lost someone close to you and their organs were transplanted and wondered what the person or people who received those transplants stories were like then this story could be for you.
4.3 Out Of 5 "Cinder & Ella" Stars
Cinder & Ella - Kelly Oram
~MY THOUGHTS~
A super sweet modern-day retelling of Cinderella.  This has it all; evil step-sister(s), a famous guy that every girl wants, and a sweet blogger girl, who just needs to cut a break in life.  Early on, when reading this, I was worried that it was going to be one of those sappy, eye-roll-inducing kind of YA reads.  I soldiered on and it paid off because it ended up being quite good.  It deals with some heavy subjects in a mostly realistic manner, without being too grievous.
There is a second book to this and I guess it adds more to their love story, I'm not sure that I'll read it, though, because overall this ended quite nicely for me.
A modern day take on Bonnie & Clyde...4.8/5 STARS
Infinity + One - Amy Harmon
~MY THOUGHTS~
Amy Harmon writes such indelible characters, I always seem to fall in love with them.  In fact, I don't know why I haven't read all her books by now.  Her pacing, flawless.  The feels, amazing.  My one issue with this particular story is the ending.  I would have liked it to play out differently, without the unnecessary bit of drama.
At the half-way point, I switched from reading to listening. I was hooked and wanted to keep reading, despite having many chores around the house, that I needed to get to. So I checked out the audiobook from my library site.  I have to say, Tavia Gilbert does some amazing accents (which I already knew because of The Firebird Series) Finn's Boston accent, was excellently done.  Bonnie Rae's singing…well…it wasn't that bad at all, actually.  She really brought this book to life.
MY RATING~ 4.5/5 STARS - GRADE=A-
The Dead List - Jennifer L. Armentrout
~MY THOUGHTS~
I recently read an arc with a similar story to this…Pretty Dead Girls…I didn't really like that one, and this had a similar feel to it in the beginning, minus the mean girls.  I was worried but it wasn't long before I realized this was different in a lot of ways.  This only had me eye-rolling a couple moments and the other had me constantly eye-rolling.  In this, the mystery surprised me, actually.  The characters were likable…and the best part…when the MC is being chased down by the bad guy, she actually does the smart thing, at least 80% of the time.  My issue and this could be a tad spoiler-ish, is with the promiscuity of 17-year-olds. I can't read explicit sex scenes when the MC's are under 18.  It's just weird.  If she had just left that out of the book, it would have been a 5-star all the way.
