Juliana O’Neil’s promising future was burned away in the heat of battle. She had been an officer with a bright future in the military, but now she is struggling to survive. Her husband gone and her career in shambles, she finds a job at Top as a hostess and tries to put together the pieces of her life. The last thing she needs is any kind of male attention, but she can’t help but be amused at her neighbor and coworker’s lothario antics. Not that she would have anything to do with him, at least not for more than one night.

Javier Leones doesn’t understand monogamy. No woman could ever be enough for his endless libido, but he has to admit Juliana has his attention. For reasons he doesn’t fully understand, he can’t seem to get the gorgeous redhead with the sad eyes out of his head. After one scorching night together, he realizes he’ll never be able to get her out of his system. But with his reputation, he fears she’ll never see him as more than a one-night stand.

When their passions collide, these new lovers will be forced to confront Juliana’s past and come to terms with Javier’s present. Will they find their way or will this reservation be canceled at the last minute?

Unconditional (Masters and Mercenaries, #5.5)
Unconditional (Masters and Mercenaries, ... Unconditional (Masters and Mercenaries, #5.5) - Lexi Blake Whenever someone wants a recommendation on a fantastic BDSM Romance, Lexi Blake is the first author I think of. All of my friends always come back to me and say they want more Lexi Blake and more of the Masters and Mercenaries. The characters in this series jump off the page and in to your hearts, and when the story ends you become sad because you don’t want to leave their world. Lexi creates such strong, well-developed characters that convey such depth and such emotion that you are feeling the same things that they do, which makes the stories and characters so real, and so hard to pull away from.

Unconditional is a Masters and Mercenaries novella, but it packs the same punch as a regular full length novel. I loved how one of the first interactions in Unconditional involved one of my favorite Doms of all time, Mr. Ian Taggert. That man has absolutely no filter, and says whatever the hell he wants no matter who you are. It is fucking hilarious. If you have kept up with the series you know how beautiful it is to have him back, and happy now that his better half has come back to him. He says marriages and babies make him want to vomit, but I bet Lexi will throw some of those obstacles his way in future stories, and I CAN’T WAIT to see Master Ian Taggert handle a baby.

“How would he do it?”

“Do what?”

“Teach me I’m worthy when I’m so damn sure I’m not.”

Unconditional shines the spotlight on two newer characters Keith and Ashley. Keith is a gorgeous, wealthy experienced Dom who is just looking to join Sanctum and blow off some steam with a sub. He wants nothing more, no relationship, no contact outside of the club. Ashley is an employee at the club who doesn’t believe in orgasms. She thinks they are a myth, and she never thought of herself as a submissive. When the contract is signed, and the first scene ends, both perspectives are shattered and all that is left is WANT.

There were so many amazing scenes in this book, I don’t even know where to start. There were times when there was no sex involved, but the scene was still so beautiful. Keith is such a gentle Dom. I think the book stated he was a “service Dom,” which meant that he was out for her pleasure, he got off by servicing her first, that was his main priority. I would characterize Keith as gentle but tough, if that makes sense. Ashley was so adorable as a first time submissive. She was so open and responsive to everything he had to give her. They were a perfect match, even if Keith fought it the whole way, but you knew he wouldn’t stand a chance. No amount of excuses would keep him away from her for too long.

Just like in any good romance, the characters are trying to carry on despite their horrible pasts. There was build up and anticipation on what Keith’s past was like. We get little hints here and there and you can try to guess but once you find out what it is, it hits you like a ton of bricks. A lot of major turning points happen in Unconditional: the moment he thought he was actually good for her, the moment where Ashley stood up for herself and her Dom, and the moment when you find out why Keith is holding back so much of his heart.

When I was almost finished with the book, and I only had a couple of chapters left, I thought to myself, am I actually going to get through a Lexi Blake book without crying my eyes out……NOT A CHANCE IN HELL! During the last chapter, there was a showdown, of a sort, and there was a statement from Keith, and it was so incredibly hard to read. There was so much heart, so much emotion that it just felt like a slap in the face, and I, my friends had myself a good ugly cry all through that chapter.

“Do you know how beautiful you are to me?”

“I know how beautiful I feel when you’re with me.”

Unconditional is a prime example of why this series, as well as the rest of Lexi’s books are instant auto-buys for me. There is a sense of familiarity and comfort in these characters and you just don’t want to let go. As long as she keeps writing these amazing stories, and bringing us on these amazing journeys, I will be right there, first in line to sing her praises.

Love and Let Die (Masters and Mercenaries, #5)
Love and Let Die (Masters and Mercenarie... Love and Let Die (Masters and Mercenaries, #5) - Lexi Blake Lexi Blake posted on Facebook & Twitter the following;

If anyone wonders why I tend to stay away from Goodreads - I already have a 3.5 rating for Love and Let Die. I haven't finished it yet so I'm unsure why it already has a mediocre rating. Maybe they know something I don't....

She's right, my account for the book showed 'read' with a rating! WTF

Love and Let Die - Lexi Blake

“It wasn’t like I hired him. I don’t fucking hire any of them. They show up for work and then Grace gets pissed when I won’t pay them. PTSD Jesse followed Alex back from Florida like some lost puppy. I keep telling Alex not to feed strays. They never fucking go away. "

He can be such an asshole!

I finally have the booook!

Love and Let Die (Masters and Mercenaries, #5)
Love and Let Die (Masters and Mercenarie... Love and Let Die (Masters and Mercenaries, #5) - Lexi Blake I can't get enough of the Masters and Mercenaries Series! Love and Let Die is Lexi Blake at her best! She writes erotic romantic suspense like no other, and I am always extremely excited when she has something new for us! Intense, heart pounding, and erotically fulfilling, I could not put this book down. Ian Taggert is one of my favorite Doms out there in fantasy land and his story is one of the best.

"You chose everyone but me. I'll fix this. I'll save you. Choose me, Charlie. Choose us. Trust me. Give me the option of being your hero."

Ian Taggart is a stubborn son of a bitch, but he is Charlie's son of a bitch, and she plans on winning him back no matter what. He can push her away, and make nothing of their sexual encounters, but she knows deep down in that gorgeous hunk of a man, lies the man who stole her heart years ago. Charlotte had her reasons for doing what she did, and breaking this Dom's heart to pieces. The only thing she can do is not make the same mistake twice. She will choose him, she will let him protect her, even if it means losing everything she worked so hard for, including her sister. Master Ian Taggert protects what's his, even if it's his stubborn little subbie that has been brought back to life to just mess with his head. He WILL NOT let her in his heart again. He would not survive it this time around. He will protect her and then walk away....but the Dom in him has other plans for his bratty sub.

"I'm yours. Only yours, Charlie. Everything I am. Everything I have. Everything I will be. All yours. Past. Present. Future. I'll give them to you."

I have been in love with Ian Taggart ever since this series started. He was always there in the background leading his team with a broken soul, and you can't help but care for the guy. The best Doms are big, strong, and protective, but they also have a teddy bear side (no matter what they say *winks*) It's a side that is tender, loving; and no matter how stubborn or bratty the submissive gets he will always take care of her. Ian is one of those Doms, and Charlie is the submissive...and together they complete each other, love each other, and gives what the other needs. It's beautiful, refreshing, and incredibly sensual.

Reading Lexi Blake's books is like watching a sexy, action packed, emotional movie, and you can't take your eyes of it. You will experience heart clenching, gut wrenching, and soul-shaking emotions that will keep your eyes glued to every page. Explosive, suspenseful, erotically charged, Love and Let Die is a MUST READ and I can't wait to see what's up next for these characters that I consider family!
