War (Savage Kings MC Book 4) by Lane Hart & D.B. West
War (Savage Kings MC Book 4) - Lane Hart,D.B. West

Can you see the smoke coming out of my eReader? This series started solid but now it's rock hard awesome <3

So, War has tried to lead two separate lives for as long as he can remember; in one he's the loving caretaker of both his sister and son, in the other he's the sergeant-at-arms of Savage Kings MC. He's been doing his best to keep each life as separate as possible but now his association to the MC may cost him custody of his beloved son, or worse. Nova and him meet in the most random circumstances and what starts as fun sexy times becomes a fight to stop War's live(s) from crumbling down.
These two were fire from the beginning. Their relationship was explosive in and outside the bedroom. Nova was smart, witty, and caring. She knew what she was getting into and owned her decisions. I love heroines that may make mistakes but own up to them so I definitely liked Nova's character. War had some anger issues that made him look terribly menacing but given the circumstances I guess his reactions were somewhat understable. In fact, I think it was that attitude that also made those around him feel protected (I'm not saying anger is ever ok, I'm only stating how I saw this character portrayed). In the end they make everything work out for them, too bad the MC seems to be in even more hot water than ever.

If you like explosive romance stories full of action, drama and funny, not to mention delightful sexy moments, then this is a story you will definitely want to read!

Frost Burned - Patricia Briggs

Pretty near everything I hoped for and waited for all those months. It is so wonderful when a book is what you hoped. Adam and Mercy and the whole cast were fantastic. As before, I just love spending time with them, but the plot and action here was engaging and well-paced, though at times I had trouble keeping up with what were the motives of the vampires involved.

So saddened by Peter's death. Poor Honey.

I liked all the call-backs to earlier events.

More Tad and Mercy. She regards him as a little brother. So, I would love to see more of their relationship. More of Zee and Tad, as well. What are Tad's powers as a half-fae?

Ben! Thankfully, there was a lot of Ben this time. Lovely to see him and see how much he cares about Kyle and a select few others now. Of course, I would still like to know more about how he feels toward Mercy now.

Very much looking forward to Night Broken, although I am not too excited to see the ex-wife back and causing trouble for Mercy. Seriously, doesn't the pack see that whatever Mercy's shortcomings, she is a vastly better person for Adam and for the pack than the ex-wife? Fools. Oh, and we get an anthology of short stories next year:)

Content warning: Adam and Mercy are married, but there are a few scenes containing sexuality/intimacy. You have been warned.

Magic Mourns - Ilona Andrews

Always nice to see Andrea. And I love her and Kate's friendship. Good short story. The usual content warnings for this series apply.

Reading progress update: I've read 50 out of 296 pages.
CMYK - Tony Akins,Shaun Simon,Amy Chu,Jock,Fábio Moon

This is a collection of short graphic fiction that use the four color process of comics printing. I had no idea what that was so I looked it up.

These are dark. The first story is Serial Artist written by Shaun Simon and illustrated by Tony Akins. It's creepy, but I love it. There is whacked out girl killing people and making art with the blood of her victims.

From what I have read so far, all of the stories are dark in some way or another.
