Review: Keepers & the Soul Key (Meridian Chronicles #4) by M.D. Fryson
Keepers & the Soul Key - MD Fryson

Syno

What has happened to Aiden after his selfless act of sacrificing his life for Meridian? Where did Meridian go? True love can break the curse, but only an act of true love from a twin soul sets her free. Their epic and sudden departure have left their friends, witches, fairies, and spirits in search of their souls. While the high court demons strategize their attack of the hall of souls to absorb the angels' power — the only demoness at court has her secret obsession, and she used Moloch, the dark one's soul collector, who may have taken more than just one soul of a wicked witch. Astaroth's secret obsession and help from Moloch may indirectly help the dark one's plan. But there is one problem that lingers. Lahash, the rogue demon of the high court, has been charged to destroy his obsession, Echo, the Earth nymph. After kidnapping her and taking her to the dark realm, she is weakened and cannot fend off the brooding demon's lust. In a passionate moment, Lahash finally confesses why he is so obsessed with the nymph, and she admits her secret knowledge of human souls. The search for Meridian and Aiden surfaces a shocking revelation. Aiden is trapped and needs to be saved, but from who? The spirit guides demand the return of a spirit guide from the keepers, who remains in the hall of souls. They believe this spirit guide can stop the demons, save the spirit guide realm, find Meridian, and save humankind. The keepers, known as the angels, have one request that the chosen one must accomplish before Etheria can be saved, and Aiden to be returned. There is only one weapon that can destroy the demons, and it is the angels' quartz sword hidden on Earth. Will Etheria's chosen one of the spirit realm find the sword? Will the demons be destroyed, or will dark one's plan triumph? Can the fallen finally be freed of their awful fate? Will Lahash kill Echo? Find out if all is to be in vain or if the chosen one can defeat the demons, connect with her twin soul, and form the powerful soul key that can save all.

My Thoughts

What a great conclusion to the series. I read it all in one sitting and did not put it down other than to get food and bathroom breaks, and even than I sometimes took it with me . When I started the series I was a bit confused, there were just so many people and so much going on with world building that I had a hard time staying focused. BUT once I got into and got to know the people better I loved it. I’m so glad I stuck with it. This being the last everything wraps up, but not before it takes us on a wild ride with lots of loops, twist and turns along the way. I really enjoyed not only this book but the entire series, it has everything I love in a book, paranormal, romance, action, suspense and lots of humor. I’m looking forward to more books from this author.

I rate this book a full 5★

Wow, this book is even better than the last one, each book gets better as we dive deeper and deeper into the world of Fairies, Demons, Spirits, Witches and much more.

I really love the character growth. Not only Meridian but everyone else as well. The story arc is also growing and we get deeper and deeper into their world and discover new and exciting but sometimes shocking things.

One of my favorite parts is that we get so many unique supernatural groups, all a bit different and yet the same as we read or heard about before, some have a nice unique spin to it.

It was all a bit overwhelming in the first book, with so many people and groups, but now it’s a breeze to read and follow along not to mention fun.

Some things we get answers to others we have to wait for the next book. We get plenty of action, twist and turns, and lots of snarky humor that I love.

Overall I really, really enjoyed this book and read it in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down and I will ever so patiently wait for the next book.

I rate it 5 ★

Review: Meridian Chronicles: Black Widow Curse The Coven (Meridian Chronicles #2) by M.D. Fryson
Meridian Chronicles Black Widow Curse & The Coven - MD Fryson

MERIDIAN’S curse has left her in a state all her own of amnesia. The once spirit guide can only recall her name and the two names of very important beings in her life. She is on Earth lost and afraid with only fragments to piece together her mysterious circumstance. Her realm’s leader, Warrick and his curse have taken the unimaginable from her and her hidden memory has the answers locked away from her. Her best friend Relic, the peacock of the realm flees for Earth to save Meridian only to find nearly a stranger.

Tallulah, the psychic who has taken Meridian in calls in her connections from Salem. The Fairies have the answer to breaking the curse and it lies in finding Meridian’s twin flame and only the universe knows who that is. From Relic, to Aiden the boy on Earth whose name is one she can recall or Kieren her love crush she knew before her curse, could all be the answer. The catch is, there are far darker souls in the high demon court and the dark witches who have their own agenda.

The good witches on Earth band together with the spirit guides, the fallen and the fairies to save Meridian against the ultimate rivals the dark witches, the demons and Meridian’s own leader of her realm, Warrick. Time is of the essence and with Meridian’s soul and fate in the crosshairs, it is only Meridian who can truly save herself by finding her twin flame. With failed attempts and fear, the one she truly loves may still linger out of reach.

This book was soo much easier to get into, than the first now that I know the world and characters. I highly recommend you read book one first.

I really enjoyed this book, the story continues with a bunch of twist and turns and mega surprises and also some loses. But what I liked the most was the characters growth in this book.

Meridian is now human and has no memory of her past life. Not only does she have to fight of evil, but also remember her past life and the curse all the while to learn to be human and what it means to be human. Of course there are some cringe worthy moments for her as a “new “ human ,but with help of friends, some new and some old she is adjusting and learning.  But there also some funny moment as Meridian has the same humor as she did before. She does adjust and learn rather quick some things other things take her a while to get used to or learn.

We learn more about the curse, and how to break it… is it even possible?!  …… We not only follow Meridian but also friends and Aiden and  most of everyone else we met, that must watch her stumble through a world she doesn’t know all the while she is danger.  They do what they can but there is only so much that they can do.  We also get some unlikely allies along the way.

One of the things I like, is that this world is rather unique and we get so many different type of supernaturals, one big world combined.

Overall I loved this book, the world building is huge but awesome and I love to learn along with my heroes, which is the case with this series.

The ending left us with a great cliff hanger and I can’t wait for next book in the series.

 I rate this book 5★

Review: Hall of Souls & the Book of the Fairies(Meridian Chronicles #1) by M.D. Fryson
Meridian Chronicles: Hall of Souls & The Book of the Fairies - MD Fryson

In a panic, the spirit guides seek an ally with the Fairy Queen who has her own agenda. With empty promises and tricks Meridian, her father and her best friend Relic go to the witch city of Salem in search of the Fairy Quartz on Halloween kept by a local witch coven in Salem. The last but most dangerous quest is the voyage to the dark realm alongside the fallen spirit guide Talon. There Meridian must answer the demon’s riddle, save her best friend and escape the demon realm. With the help of a once spirit guide cast away as a fallen, she finds an ironic refuge in his help and escapes with the Fairy Book only to see through the fairy tricks.

With her own love triangle surrounding her as she endures her quests for their existence, she finds herself pulling from her best friend Relic who is in love with her and hanging onto Kieren her new crush who is in a Fairy induced slumber. She can’t quite let her thoughts steer away from the human boy, Aiden who she discovers is the son of the very fallen spirit guide accompanies her on her journey.

With the council trial and Warrick’s undoubted hatred, Meridian is stifled by sadness for her father after he is cast in the hall of souls. She flees for Earth in search for Aiden breaking Warrick’s law at the cost of being cast to Earth as a demon. Warrick’s curse takes an unexpected turn when Meridian isn’t quite what he intended for her to emerge as. With the off-chance encounter with Aiden after months of his absence and her new identity she is faced with her curse and her desire to be with Aiden

I’m not going to lie. The beginning of this book was a bit rough, you just get thrown into the world of Meridian, her family and friends and have to figure out what is what and who is who. The world seems massive, confusing and new. On top there are so, so many characters that I can see why people quit.

That being said I’m glad I stuck to it. It does get better and easier to understand.  I really liked the concept and the story. I really enjoyed the world building once it was slowed down, further in to the story and easier to understand. I also really enjoyed Meridian, she was strong and had her funny and snarky moments, I liked that she was relatable in some things like not always doing the right thing.

Overall, while yes the beginning was a bit rocky and choppy I did end up really enjoying it. I think maybe a Glossary of sorts would be a helpful to new and even current readers. I’m looking forward to see what happens next .

I rate it 4 ★
