Release Week Review! Darkest Night (Wired & Dangerous #2) Megan Erickson!
Darkest Night - Megan Erickson

Bodyguard Jock Bosh has one job: keep Fiona Madden safe. Safe from the men who've been hunting her. Safe from the bastard responsible for ruining her life. And with the attraction sizzling white-hot between them, that means keeping Fiona safe from him too.

Fiona has spent the past decade on the run. Her survival is the single greatest weapon she's had against the men out to destroy her. Until Jock. Now, with him by her side, she finally has a chance to bring them down. But when her enemies make their next move and Jock puts himself in the line of fire, Fiona realizes that there's more at stake than just her life-she's also risking her heart.

As a bodyguard, Jock Bosh has only one job, keep Fiona Madden safe from the bastard responsible for ruining her life. Having spent the past decade on the run, Fiona’s greatest weapon against the men out to destroy her is her survival, but when Jock puts himself in the line of fire, Fiona realizes that there is more at stake than just her life.

Darkest Night is full of strong, compelling characters and Fiona and Jock grab reader’s attention and keep them glued to the book as their story unfolds. The romance between these two is a bit unorthodox because of their issues which adds depth to the characters and ensures that readers want to know how everything works out for them as they cheer them on. There is lots of burning chemistry and emotional turbulence throughout and both of these characters capture reader’s hearts from the very beginning.

The enemies that face the characters in the second book of the Wired & Dangerous series were introduced in the first book, but if readers haven’t read it, that’s okay because they will be eagerly anticipating their demise in no time. Deep Cover is fast paced and smoothly flows through the pages with lots of thrilling suspense, dangerous enemies and excitement as Jock and his crew get closer to taking out those bad guys and discovering just who that mastermind is.

I love the characters of the Wired & Dangerous series as they are part geek and part sexy tough guys that project a vulnerability that can’t be ignored as it makes me feel that they are people I could really get to know. I was completely caught up in Deep Cover from beginning to end and I have to say that I found Amy to be a survivor to be admired and I can’t wait to find out what happens next in this thrilling series.

New Release Review! Blood Veil (Mission #2) Megan Erickson!
Blood Veil - Megan Erickson

In the midst of supernatural chaos, worlds and hearts collide.

Celia: Having never known my parents, I’ve always felt like an orphan. All I want is a normal life. But after I’m attacked in my bedroom by one vampire—and rescued by another—it’s about time to give up on “normal” once and for all. Idris, the second in command of the Gregorie vampire clan, has come to my aid, but his motives for saving me are unclear. And what surprises me most is my attraction to his heated gaze. . . .

Idris: Terror. Curiosity. Arousal. These are the natural impulses of a human female, not the spawn of the ruthless Valarian king. Is it possible that Celia is unaware of her bloodline—and the power coursing through her veins? As the daughter of my archenemy, she was supposed to be my ransom. But how quickly the heat of desire changes everything. Now the family Celia has always craved is trying to kill her, and it’s up to me to save her again—when all I really want to do is make her mine.

Megan Erickson’s thrilling Mission novels can be read together or separately:
BLOOD GUARD | BLOOD VEIL

Blood Veil is a thrilling read with some sexy characters that will take your breath away!

First, let me tell you that I have not read the 1st book in the series as I somehow missed it (I will be rectifying that asap) and I still really enjoyed Blood Veil but I think that Blood Guard should probably been read first to achieve maximum understanding of Megan Erickson’s very intriguing world. But like I said, it didn’t stop me from enjoying the book without reading it, I just think that the events leading up to this character’s book would have helped to get a more complete picture the world and to fully understand what drives the characters.

Now on to my opinion of Blood Veil – Celia and Idris are strong, captivating characters with sizzling chemistry and a heavy-duty attraction that readers can practically feel vibrating from every page, their romance rocky due to some seemingly unresolvable issues and of course the fear of the unknown which draws readers in and keeps them focused on the events throughout the book. The fast paced plot keeps readers on the edge of their seats throughout the book with suspense and thrills and surprising twists that keeps readers guessing and the supporting characters are lively and compelling with some bad guys that makes readers want to shoot them themselves.

Megan Erickson brings her very intriguing world of vampires to life with vivid imagery, fascinating characters and some unique elements that add spice and intrigue to her world which means that I will definitely be coming back for more as I was completely enthralled with this Mission novel.

Blood Veil is the 2nd book in the Mission series.

Early Review! Zero Hour (Wired & Dangerous #1) Megan Erickson
Zero Hour (Wired & Dangerous) - Megan Erickson

The Fast and the Furious meets Mr. Robot in USA Todaybestselling author Megan Erickson's thrilling new romantic suspense series.

Hacker extraordinaire Roarke Brennan lives each hour - each breath - to avenge his brother's murder. His first move: put together a team of the best coders he knows. They're all brilliant, specialized, and everyone an epic pain in his ass. Only now Wren Lee wants in too, threatening to upset their delicate balance. The girl Roarke never allowed himself to want is all grown up with sexy confidence and a dark past ... and she's the wild card he can't control.

Roarke might still think she's a kid, but Wren's been to hell and back. Nothing and nobody can stop her - especially the tatted-up, cocky-as-all-hell hacker. But when years of longing and chemistry collide, Wren and Roarke discover that revenge may be a dish best served blazing hot.

Zero Hour is a thrilling read full of suspense, thrills and romance. The characters draw readers in with their strong, compelling presence and the fast paced story keeps the anticipation building throughout.

The story is a bit misleading because you expect it to be more sedate than it is because of the stereo typing belief that hackers are all about their computers. That is definitely not the case here as readers find out almost right off the bat. The hero and heroine, Roarke and Wren are two characters that demand attention and captivate readers with their charismatic personalities that are somewhat expected but are so much more than expected that I just had to get to know them better. Which leads me to their romance, it is full of emotional turmoil which adds lots of depth and tugs at heartstrings.

Now, we get to the thrilling suspense of the story, it is not only fast paced, I have to agree with the “Fast & Furious” feel of the story. It has lots of twists and unexpected surprises that really keeps readers on the edge of their seats as the anticipation builds throughout. Along with the question of whether these characters will let revenge rule their lives, will revenge be enough, will it come between the growing relationship and even the question of whether they will survive?

Zero Hour is the first book that I have read by Megan Erickson and what a great one to start out with. I was glued to the pages from beginning to end and found the world exciting and daring and the author brought it vivid life, so I am looking forward to not only reading the next book in the Wired & Dangerous series but more books by Megan Erickson.
